P.S. Don't worry folks, as soon as I get it working, we can play... I think I may have Gruntz later today. Please, during your free time, at any time, please be online at Hamachi, and if I'm on, write to me.

I have a problem. I don't know why and how it can be fixed. When I click on HOST/JOIN, either one of them, a window pops asking me to choose my Player Name and type of connection ("Select Network Service") but the window from which I should choose my network connection from... BLANK! There's nothing in it! I don't know what to do!

That is really wierd! I've never had that problem before. This is funny; we have each had different problemz trying to get it to work. Me: My computer locks up when I press join sessionz. You: There is nothing there at all on the networkz. Abdalla: Abdalla got some kind of error message when he tried to join. Abdalla, post the same error message (if you can remember it) on here. This is tough, but we willkeep trying!

Also tried to do a Battle with Tomalla earlier, but the first time we tried, his Gruntz game shut off; the second time he got the same error message as Abdalla. So I don't know if Hamachi is really gonna' work.

I was really hoping I'd work. Sigh, guess Monolith didn't even test it before releasing it. :@

Please try not to post one-word replies in threads, especially of the type where the single word is an expletive (even if it is misspelled, it's still implied). I just deleted one of this type in this thread. If you can't think of anything to post besides an expletive, then please don't post at all.

I'll bookmark this thread... if we can manage to find a way of playing Gruntz over the Internet, I'll not think twice before making a Battle CL especially for humanz.
Do we need to actually use Hamachi? I don't think a program could help in the Multiplayer system of a game that has nothing to do with it.
If you guyz want, I could host it. I did once when I played with my father, and it worked perfectly, it never had any error. I know playing through the Internet is different, but we could try...

But when you played with your father, were you in he same room? If you were, that is why it's different; we are trying to link up almost half-way around the world!

Hamachi is necessary in order to establish the connection and create IP addresses. From there on, errors of any kind, are from Gruntz.

The two SG Designerz almost got it today... me ( Sword Grunt) and Space Goo disabled firewalls, configured programs... each one hosted many times... no, no, no. There's always the TIMEOUT error... after we click the deadly button 'Join' in the sessionz list... it'll time out in less than a minute. BTW, I think this has a meaning... I'm trying to find out what is causing the error. Maybe doesn't anyone who knows about computers know what this error means and what is causing it?

We should be trying almost all week, so if anyone wants to help us out, PM me and I'll give you the Network name and Password to my Hamachi network, and we can talk about it. If you don't have Hamachi yet, just go back a page on this thread. As SwordGrunt said, it is error which we don't understand. If we knew what the error meant, it would be eaiser to figure out why.

SpaceGoo left my network. You know, you can be in more than one network at the same time. I'm currently in 13 Hamachi networks.

I'll join Teo's network as well. You'll see me as either SwordGrunt (Guigui), SwordGrunt2 or SwordGrunt3... I have one account in each house/computer I frequent.

Heh, there's no need for 30000000 Gruntz networks while we're so few people. We can just have one. I don't see any reason behind it, SpaceGoo, LOL.

Friday evening me and SpaceGoo got one step further... his Gruntz was set on compatibility with Windows 95 (he said it was always that way ) and mine was to Windows 98 (it wasn't set to any compatibility before). When I joined, it took longer than usual to give the time out error. And it didn't! After a few minutes, the screen showed with the typical Gruntz "Please Wait...", however, after that, my game crashed with no message. Looks like it was going to show up the window with the Battle settings (Max Gruntz, color, etc.), but the game crashed exactly on that point. Does this mean compatibility mode may help?

Ah, I should try Gruntz on 98/95 compatibility mode instead of XP SP2.
