These HTML threadz are continually under construction, so pay attention to postz regarding updatez.
Older operating systemz only support three characterz for file extensionz, so the file extension would be ".htm"; newer operating systemz support four characterz (or more!) for file extensionz, so the preferred file extension would be ".html". But on newer Operating Systemz, both 3 and 4 character file extensionz are acceptable. I (GooRoo) take advantage of this dual support in Windows XP (HE) by accepting z from other Designerz (and/or writerz) and name them with 3 character extensionz, then use 4 character extensionz for my own versionz ... which usually have linkz to Tile imagez (Purple Multi-Grunt Switch ) and/or special imagez such as Red Warp added to what the writer provided me.
It is not necessary for each Designer to provide any of the Gruntz universal memberz with their walkthroughz!
But so would-be walkthrough writerz may completely test their own effortz, I will provide the universal componentz I have created in this thread. Registered memberz of GooRoo's Gruntz Forum may reply to threadz in this Sub-Board, with suggested additionz/changez/deletionz to the universal componentz. I will periodically make such changez to the original HTML code in each universal thread, and to the component(z) stored on my web host. If you (the walkthrough writer) want to keep your own copiez current, all you need to do is watch for an "Edit:" entry dated later than the date of your personal copy, and then re-copy code from this thread onto your hard drive. To make it easier for you to know that the code has changed, I will post a reply which will do nothing more than change the sad face to a spinning Coin next to the HTML Board.
Now for instructionz on organizing your hard drive, in order to match the web host organization. This is important so that your walk-through will work equally well four yourself (at home) and for the readerz on-line.
Walk-throughz (spelling is not important ... referencez are relative, not specific ... and I use "hintz")
+Custom (unless you designed one or more of the 36 'Standard' Levelz )
++Author (your handle, as I use GooRoo)
+++Level name as "AliBaba"
The 'Custom' folder will probably only contain your 'Author' folder. Mine containz at least 63 folderz (growz with each new Designer added), 1 for each Designer, plus 'Unknown".
Your 'Author' folder will contain folderz for each of your Custom Levelz, plus those componentz that apply to you, regardless of what CL walk-through the reader openz.
Each 'Level name' folder will contain as many of the componentz that are unique to a particular puzzle as necessary. Many CLz, for instance, do not have any Powerupz, so that component is not necessary ... although you may want to include it with nothing more than the statement "there are none in this puzzle" (or some such).
