This morning, everything was fine. This evening, as I was closing down for the day, I could not login to my e-mail account! You see, my login ID is an e-mail account from my original ISP provider from 1986. For the last two yearz we have been trying to get the account deleted, and the billing stopped, because we upgraded to a DSL account. But the service has been sold four or five timez, and we only managed to achieve personal (not automated ) correspondence with the current ownerz late last year. They have been hemming and hawing about cancelling the account (and the BILLING!) since the first personal contact with them. Apparently they finally closed out the account today ... and I lost my access to my primary e-mail account! Now I have to wait for some one on staff to notice my plea for help and take action on it. Until someone does, my e-mail account is going to be jammed up with SPAM at the rate of two or three dozen messagez each day, and 70KB to 250KB of junk that I cannot purge. I have a back-up e-mail account that I seldom use ... seldom even check it for new messagez, because few people even know of it! I will have to re-educate myself on accessing it, and use it to satisfy the PM'ed ( Personal Messagez) requestz for Custom Levelz (CLz), etc. that I receive. Please be patient with me! I'm a creature of habit, and will have to change a long-standing habit due to this problem. Also, I am reluctant to send out new CLz from my back-up e-mail because I don't want that URL to become common knowledge ... or it will quickly start acquiring as many SPAM e-mailz daily as the one I use regularly. Plus, your e-mail provider might not recognize something coming from my back-up as being 'trusted' (if you have added me to your 'trusted' list).

It may be coincidental that I had problemz yesterday! Yes, the old ISP e-mail is being disconnected, but apparently there has been a major upgrade of my primary e-mail system, and that was what kept me from logging in. This morning I have my e-mail back again, with several major changez in the display. More colorful text, with "To:", "From:" and the like now in Blue, and the unread e-mailz also in blue. There is also a very different appearance to the "Folders" screen. So I probably over-reacted yesterday.
Anyway, my e-mail is working once again, and I am once again responding to requestz for Custom Levelz, walkthroughz and the like.

I regularly(? ) use two different e-mail accountz ... one recently has begun limiting me severely, and caused problemz because of poor design of the recent 'upgrade' ... black text on black background in my address book being a real hassle. My primary e-mail account receives hundredz of SPAM e-mailz every week, which I have to delete manually. I just used my secondary e-mail account to send out "FlowerPower" to one of our Gruntzerz who is also a Designer and noticed that there were 508 messagez in the SPAM folder! (I cleaned out that folder only a few dayz ago.) I checked them out, and every single one was truly SPAM! So I am seriously considering switching over to the e-mail provider that does the better job of protecting me from SPAMmerz and 'phisherz'. (I know, I have threatened to do this before, but keep going back to the one that used to be the easiest one to use. I am loathe to change over, because there is so much truly useful and important e-mail from Gruntzerz and other correspondentz that I would have to inform of the new e-mail address.) What is the experience of you Gruntzerz who have switched from one e-mail provider to another? How did you go about contacting the people you wanted to follow you to the new address? How long did you retain the old e-mail account before having it deleted? What do you say are the 'proz' and 'conz' of switching e-mail servicez? Thank you (in advance) for your feed-back on this issue!

My yahoo acount has never recieved any spam before (but maybe it's because I'm young ).\ My other email service (outlook express) suddenly asked me for a password reentery about a number of monthz ago. I did not remember the password, so that one is locked to this day (and probably forever ). My best advise is to go for a yahoo account. I have seen my dad'z yahoo accoun numerous timez and there never seem to be too many spam messagez, only about 3-6 (they even get stored in their own folder ). I do believe that yahoo has an option to check every email in a list, so clearing even 10,000 spam messagez is a piece of cake.

My GMail account allowz me to view (and delete!) 50 SPAM messagez at a time (50 messagez per page), which (to me) is very good. Today I did a "select all" on each page, then did a quick scan for anything that may have been legitimate ... and deleted everything still selected (all of them today). Repeat 11 timez, and the job was done. My primary e-mail account requirez me to delete SPAM twice! The first time sendz them into my 'trash' file, then I have to delete the trash. That workz very much like the file deleting process of Windoze ... delete sendz stuff to the 'recycle bin', and you have to 'empty' it to actually get rid of those filez.

The height of irony! This jerk (and that's being extremely polite!) from Poland has been spoofing my e-mail address, and SPAMming all over the Internet. " <goornic@poczta.onet.pl>" When I tried to send this 'person' an e-mail warning to "cease and desist", my message was rejected, "sender not accepted"!!! I am trying to report this 'person' to my e-mail provider, but their automated system may take dayz to get my complaint into the proper person's inbox, so action may be taken. Any ideaz how I can speed up the process of removing this idiot from the Internet? I am convinced that jerkz like this are the reason I am having so much trouble with my primary e-mail account ... being unable to distribute Gruntz Custom Levelz to all of the Gruntz Fanz in a single day, for one thing. My primary account e-mail address is public at the Monolith Productions, Inc. Gruntz Forum, which as most of you know is not monitored in any way. I, myself, have not made a visit there in well over a month (although I will do so today, just to see what kind of mischief has been rendered there since my last visit). I see no recourse other than to close the Seattle Mariners e-mail account, and use one of my other e-mail accounts for Gruntzy thingz in the future. I have used my GMail account to send thingz to Bonnie ( Oldone) and sometimez to Gaby, so that is the logical choice to use for Gruntz. I could not use my standard 'handle' there, because someone already had it, so when you see something Gruntzy coming your way, please do not treat it as SPAM because it has extra stuff in the "From:" line. Another advantage of GMail is that it has a very good SPAM blocker that has yet to mis-classify anything. If it sayz it is SPAM, it defintely is SPAM! Since I have had the account, exactly three e-mailz have made it through the filter that were garbage. With their built-in "report SPAM" mechanism, I have not received any repeat garbage there. Probably the biggest other advantage is that I have a 1 GB limit, instead of the 5 MB limit with what I have been using so long as my primary e-mail account ... 200 timez as much space!

It certainly sounds good. Are there any drawbacks? I'd say go for it.

Well, my primary account e-mail problemz have now escalated! There is no longer a link to e-mail on the web site! There was no warning that it was going to be taken away ... this morning it was just ... GONE! So my migration of e-mail decision seemz to have been made for me. Remindz me of a joke. Native American (aka 'Indian') goes to the local Reservation headquarters to protest. "Bowels no move!" So the official gives him a small package and tells him to take one a day. Each day for a few weeks the native returns and repeats "Bowels no move!" The official becomes quite concerned and sends him to the doctor. A few days later the native returns and says "Bowels has to move ... tipi full of s##t".I have to move my primary e-mail account, because the one I was using seems to have gone down the ceramic convenience.

I am totally unable to access any e-mail messagez in (what has been) my primary e-mail account. So far, there has been no response to 'help' messages I have sent to the web site regarding my access problem, so I have changed my e-mail contact to (what had been) my secondary e-mail account. It just does not work to be unable to receive notificationz about postz and Personal Messagez requiring my attention. I hate it when someone makez decisionz of this magnitude for me, without ever either consukting me, or at least warning me that a change would be made by some date! I have no idea how many PM notificationz, or thread update notificationz I have missed. That is, until I made my Forum run this morning. Normally, I would have known what required my attention via the e-mail scan I do two to five timez a day. The bottom line is, do not send anything that you feel is important to you (or to me!) to the Major League Baseball (MLB) e-mail address. Hopefully, everyone may use the e-mail or PM gadgetz of this Forum to contact me (e-mail to include attachmentz, such as new Custom Levelz, or Statz Page imagez, comicz, etc.). I apologize for the inconvenience.

Someone who has sent me e-mail at my secondary e-mail account has a computer infected with a SPAM worm! I have begun receiving e-mailz from 'me' in that account ... which are properly identified and shoved into the SPAM folder. Please obtain a reliable commercial anti-virus/anti-spyware program ... and use it! This program is accessing your address book, and sending out SPAM spoofing the legitimate addresses of people you correspond with as "From:" in their garbage. These programs frequently do a "mix and match" of names before the @ and addresses after the @ ... and send out their junk to everyone in your address book.

Once again, I am unable to access my primary e-mail account. Instead of the log-in screen, I get this dialogue box. I have used a few work-aroundz that were successful in the past, but they all yield the same result. So I am afraid that my e-mail address was 'spoofed' and SPAM sent to someone who successfully complained to the e-mail provider ... and my URL was banned. Otherwise, I would have been able to at least reach the log-in screen. I attempted to use my PC at the local restaurant, making use of their Wi-Fi connection, but it was too slow, and every attempt timed out before I could see if I could reach the log-in screen from another location (URL). I have an open incident report with customerservice@marinersmvp.com, in hopes that someone will actually INVESTIGATE where the SPAM e-mails originated, and reinstate my access to my e-mail account. But when I previewed this link just now, it did not go to an e-mail dialog box.
