Hello everybody. I'm asking for prayers for my oldest sister who is in a coma from heart failure and not expected to live. I want her to live so very very much but God's will be done. She is the sweetest person and always avoided any arguing. With 7 of us and her the oldest, that's an awesome feat. I love her best of all but maybe it's time. She just got home in Dec with congestion in her heart and stopped breathing several times then.
Please pray for her. And God's will be done in Heaven.

Peekaboo, I'm so sorry to read about your sister. Unfortunately, I have my own experience with congestive heart failure. My wife of 19 years passed away from that nasty disease almost 4 years ago, just a month shy of her 44th birthday. So I know where you're coming from. My prayers are with you, your sister and her family. May the Lord be merciful to you and her.

Thank you FG. So kind of you and all who prayed for her. Just got home awhile ago and the news is wonderful. The most amazing thing happened during the night. She might be going to make it after all. The doctors had much better news for us today. Her lungs re-inflated, the dr's did a procedure to get more fluid and mucus out and she woke up from her coma. They took her off the ventilator and ran more tests today. She could actually croak at us after awhile. The first thing she said (that we could understand) was "where have ya'll been?" We were quietly laughing and crying. Then the nurse caught us and shooed us out again. "Now ya'll know it's only 2 at a time and only ten minutes each".
I am so happy for sis and believe me, we boo-hooed enough these last days. Also so glad to sleep in my bed tonite. Motel beds just don't cut the cake. But back in the morning and *shudder* riding with my maniac speed demon niece. Now you can pray for my sis and me. Besides I got pinched all day for not wearing green. lol
FG, I am so sorry about your wife. How very sad and how young to go. Did your wife have the enlarged heart also? You are so right, this is a mean terrible disease and Jean just keeps having these scary episodes. She told me about 6 months ago that she wouldn't make it thru the winter months. Broke my heart then. I feel selfish but I'm not unrealistic. I want her to stay but I also know the next time might be it. It's tough and frightening to go thru. I am extremely sorry you had to go through it. What is her first name? I will think of her tonite in my prayers. Hugs and best wishes to you.

Thank you FG. So kind of you and all who prayed for her. Just got home awhile ago and the news is wonderful. The most amazing thing happened during the night. She might be going to make it after all. Outstanding news, Peekaboo! That was the clincher on the diagnosis. Trouble was, I watched Deb's condition deteriorate for a year and a half before she was willing to go to the doctor. It started out as shortness of breath which she ascribed to asthma, something she was "diagnosed" with when she was pregnant with our first child. I still question that diagnosis. Then she began to have episodes where you could hear the fluid in her lungs as she fought for her breath. But through it all, and despite my insistence, she would not go see a doctor. Finally, during her last episode, her knees turned blue and that frightened her enough to be willing to go and get checked. We ultimately ended up at the emergency room. When she was x-rayed, that's when they found the enlarged heart. And, of course, that earned her a ticket straight into the cardiac care unit. Unfortunately, too little, too late. She quietly passed away 2 days later. Moral of the story, if you experience unexplained shortness of breath and it continually re-occurs, hie thee to a physician ASAP.

I woke up late this morning. Just couldn't stay awake. The *%^* hospital made me weak and off- kilter as can be. Feeling a tad better now. Think it's just stress or something.
Hey, it saved me from riding with Denna. You can say prayers for me tomorrow when I ride with her.
FG, good morning. Bless your heart. You're a good guy. Hope you and yours are doing well today and the tomorrows to come.
You're right about the continual shortness of breath. It happens to Jean all the time in the last 10 or so months. The Dr's even said that they thought one of her lungs had been collapsed for about 2 months or more from all the buildup of fluid and yucky stuff. They said it is hard to diagnose that. I sure as heck don't understand why because they've seen her umpteen times in the last couple years and she's had collapsed lungs another time. Sheesh!
But anyway Denna just told me Jean's still extremely tired today and no one can go in today. Denna's just waiting to see the doctor, then she'll come back home. That's the update so far.
Please remember Jean in your prayers. Thank you so much.

Great news... My sister will make it. Last Sunday about 10:30 am they gave my sister 3-5 days to live. She was non-responsive and entered a semi-conscious state. Went immediately to grab stuff and took off in my vehicle. Been at hospital until about 2:00 pm today and got home roughly about 2 hrs ago. We took turns at night in ICU in the meanest reclining chair ever built. They don't want people in ICU, evidently. Actually it's better that way or patient will never rest. They don't rest anyway because ICU never stops with the action. Nurses, medicine, special treatments, Xrays, machine's beeping, machine's being refilled/changed, and anything you can think of coming and going all the time. How in the world does an ill person survive in there? We had to leave at 6:30 in the morn before the Dr's began to make their rounds. We were happy to leave. Next person's turn sharply at 9:00 am and two visitors at a time for 10 minutes only in visiting hours for ICU. This hospital strictly observed the rules except for letting someone stay at night. The person that had stayed the previous nite got to go to bed and sleep because they certainly hadn't slept the nite before. Jean awoke on the third day (Tuesday) and would stay awake for short periods that became longer periods. ICU got even busier in her room. She sat in that horrendous chair on Thursday. She walked 20 feet late last evening after being settled on the fourth floor earlier in the afternoon. They are letting her go sometime early part of next week. I've got strep throat. Emergency room gave me prescription for anti-biotics and a wonderful feeling shot that I just can't wait to have again some day. Have to try fast to get rid of the strep so I can stay with her during the day when Denna goes to work. Ahh, my own bed tonite.
