I just tried to hook up my old flat screen monitor I used with my desktop computer to my laptop, and foolishly said to split the display between the two monitorz (built-in and external), and now the external only showz my background display ... nothing else. I have been unable to locate any meanz to go back to displaying the same view on both monitorz. Any of you PC guruz know how to fix this?

I use NVIDIA and there are appropriate options for that, although I don't know any details ( I work with one screen only ).

Generally the shortcut is Fn+F5 (it is on my Asus netbook; also Win+P in Windows 7).

Generally the shortcut is Fn+F5 (it is on my Asus netbook; also Win+P in Windows 7). That shortcut turned OFF both my laptop and the external monitor display ... and re-pressing the shortcut combination did nothing. I had to re-boot in order to get my display back.

Fn+F5 works a bit like Alt+Tab, i.e. you keep pressing F5 with Fn held down to cycle through settings.
