I was going through my Polish copy of the original Gruntz manual (yes, I still have it! It's in terrible condition, but still readable!), and I noticed one thing I never saw in this game...
This manual mentions that on the Stats menu (the one with the list of our gruntz), the last, fourth row should contain information about which group specific gruntz are assigned to, with numbers representing gruntz assigned to only one group, and an asterisk (*) representing gruntz assigned to many groups.
Anybody knows if it's actually used in the game?

I was going through my Polish copy of the original Gruntz manual (yes, I still have it! It's in terrible condition, but still readable!), and I noticed one thing I never saw in this game... This manual mentions that on the Stats menu (the one with the list of our gruntz), the last, fourth row should contain information about which group specific gruntz are assigned to, with numbers representing gruntz assigned to only one group, and an asterisk (*) representing gruntz assigned to many groups. Anybody knows if it's actually used in the game? It is a handy way to (temporarily?) select more than one Grunt at once for an action. In "Hidden Treasurez...", for example, there is a Question Mark Switch that may be used to get four different Gruntz together, after they have been separated in two pairz of twoz. By giving three of the Gruntz the same number, and having them as close together as possible, they all can be moved into the same area, making it easy to select the fourth Grunt (the one who pressez the Switch) and also get him to the same area. In the same CL, there is a place where the Gauntletz Grunt and the Magic Wand Grunt have to swap placez; that would be an unwise situation to use the group selection, because (while the first two stepz have them move together) they have to be selectable individually to finish the swap. In several CLz there have been situationz where two or more Gruntz have to combine to fight an enemy Grunt, or cross a Crumbling Bridge, and (sometimez) to move through a Silver Pyramid maze together where it helpz to use that multiple selection method ... especially if one Grunt 'way over here startz an action and these Gruntz over there need to do something based upon what happenz ... quickly. Group the Gruntz under one number, then have Grunt #1 start the action, double-press the number key of the group, and click on the destination ... voila! ... success is yourz!

Oh, that's a pretty useful thing to know. The manual does not say, however, that I can assign gruntz or groups of gruntz to hotkeys (numbers only) if I'll press CTRL+number. Very handy! EDIT: No... it actually does, but only in the Controls section, which I never bothered to read.
