I'm seeing some odd error with the buttons at the top... Profile button does not have a pressed version, while all of the buttons on its right use incorrect ones.

I'm seeing some odd error with the buttons at the top... Profile button does not have a pressed version, while all of the buttons on its right use incorrect ones. I am using FireFox as a browser, and everything works as it should, for me. When I moved the mouse over Profile, it depressed ... and with the mouse click took me to my profile. Right now, all ten buttons are in the raised position, as I am posting. When I clicked (or moved my mouse over) them, they displayed the alternate (depressed) image and when actually pressed took me to the appropriate activity.

I am using Google Chrome. Profile button does not have a depressed version, Bookmark button uses Profile's depressed version, Inbox button uses Bookmark's depressed version, and Logout button uses Inbox's depressed version.

I am using Google Chrome. Profile button does not have a depressed version, Bookmark button uses Profile's depressed version, Inbox button uses Bookmark's depressed version, and Logout button uses Inbox's depressed version. I will pass on this link to David Clark (ProBoards Admin who has done most of the work). He provided the rollover process for the main menu switches (buttons), and had a problem similar to what you report with Register/Login/Logout ... that was fixed for FireFox.

Reply from David Clark, about two hours ago:
"Hey GooRoo, I'm using Google Chrome as well, and the buttons are showing correctly for me. Can you have your member try something? Have them press ctrl+shift+del on their keyboard while Chrome is open to open the Clear Browsing Data dialog. Ensure Cookies and Cache are checked and the dropdown is set to "the beginning of time", and then have them clear it out. After that, do the buttons function properly?"

I tried it; I used the clearing option to remove all my cookies. After refreshing the forum and logging in, the buttons are still incorrect.

I am told that your problem is that you are not a staff member, so do not see the 'Admin' button on the main menu. This is a bug in the script, and the person who has been taking care of the main menu problems has the day off. I am sure the problem will be resolved within a short time, once David returns to work.

I noticed I'm having Zu's problem as well, it's a good thing the cause is known now. GooRoo, is the admin panel seemingly a separate page for you as well? I thought it was something with my color scheme at first, but apparently it's a page of its own that doesn't follow the forum's skin like it used to in v4. Just wanted to confirm if it happens here too, or if I forgot to setup something...

Everything is a series of boxes, for me, arranged three across in my 1024 pixel wide screen. I suppose that if someone were using the full width of the screen (1760 pixels, in my case) there may be four boxes across. (And a narrower screen might only have two.) What's more, a guest does not see much similarity to what we members see. That is the subject of my latest ProBoards Support Forum post ... extending the Forum theme to guests.

I am happy to report that the bug is fixed now. I did the equivalent of a in the thread where I reported the rollover/selection problem on ProBoards, so I will go back and report "SUCCESS!" to David Clark.

David Clark has come through again, and fixed the repeating background problem! Now, when you scroll down, the background remains fixed, and does not begin to repeat when pixel 769 is shown vertically. So when a Category split occurs (for example) you can see more of the background image, as intended. I thought that when a Board's background image was more than 768 pixels 'tall', the 769+ pixels would begin to show, but that isn't happening. IMHO that is no big thing, since I made every effort to select puzzle images that were as near 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels tall as possible. And my personal goal is to create puzzlez that are no more than 32 tilez wide and 24 tilez tall anyway, unless something really neat manages to come out of my skull that requires a bigger map.

I have completed "The miniature Masterz" Custom Level announcementz, and am moving on to "Gruntz In Space". I noticed that some of the Area 1 through Area 6 threadz have broken tablez, and will need to go back through all of them, using the "Version 5 update" process I began using with "The miniature Masterz" ... copying the table into NotePad, and doing replacez to change the UBBC stringz into the pseudo HTML stringz which seemz to be the current ProBOards 'standard'. The benefit of this is that I have a copy of the Announcement stored in the respective Custom Level's folder on my hard drive, and (eventually) on the web host. First I will update the Gruntz Extraz DVD with everything as up-to-date as possible ... making it the third back-up to this Forum's discussion material. (My hard drive and the web host being the first two back-upz.)

I am happy to announce that all of the threads for the Battlez levels had their links and tables fixed, and also had any redundant elements removed (walkthroughs, tool counts etc.). Now the only thing remaining would be to make viewable maps for them...

Now the only thing remaining would be to make viewable maps for them... Since in Battles puzzles the enemy forts all have Gruntz appearing up to the limit the solver has set, and immediately roaming around to attack other forts, it is (almost) impossible to create a "View the map!" which shows an unchanged image of the playing field. Perhaps if it is possible to set all of the enemy team maximums to 0 (zero), a reasonable image may be created ... but I am not interested enough to spend any time in the attempt.

I am willing to handle the task, but it may take some time. Worst case scenario, we can just use the Print To Bitmap function from Gruntz Level Editor... even though it tends to be faulty at times.

Also, it does not provide any of the game time images, such as Tools, Toys, Curses, Powerups or animations such as toggling bridges, Rolling Rocks and the like. Regarding Gruntz Level Editor and game engine displays: it is too bad that CoveredPowerups of CheckPoint Switches show the requirements. To my way of thinking, that is a bug that should not have been allowed to exist in the distributed game. It gives the solver a premature clue as to which Grunt should exchange a tool or toy to pass the puzzle(s) ahead.

I just completed the scan of "Gruntz In Space" Custom Levels, and discovered two Announcements in error ... fixed now. With "Gruntz In Space" behind me, I am moving on to "The Miniature Masterz", then "Honey, I Shrunk The Gruntz", etc. (I decided not to risk everything not being corrected due to the Version 5 update, before there is a Version 5.5 ... or Version 6 that could wipe out anything not brought up-to-date in table codes.)

Scanning through "The Miniature Masterz" I came across Golfing With Gruntz with a broken link ... which I found is only because the "View the map!" image is a GLE bitmap and not a game-time map, so a thumb nail was not created for it. So a side trip to create a game-time map is in order.
Now, most of the Announcements are borderless tables, but I found one with a border ... The Cross 7! The problem is, in order to add borders, instead of in the {table} entry (as in true HTML), it was necessary to add the border information string into every {td} entry, making them all {td style="border: 1px solid #000; padding: 3px;"} ... adding 46 characters to every table data entry. No wonder I didn't opt for borders in all of the Announcements!

My recommendation for dealing with things like this is to paste the html into something like wordpad, then use fractor's "search and replace" to convert all those entries to what they need to be. So it would be: Replace: "{td}" with "{td style="border: 1px solid #000; padding: 3px;"}" Then you just repaste the new html over the old on on the forum post. This is what I did when updating the battlez indices (and also how I completed the task in under a day).
