For my curiosity,do we need to make levels compatible with help boxes they have in original levels ? Since Zu provided the nice, concise Quick Gruntz Tutorial, I see no reason for including Help Boxez. I consider that to be an excellent replacement for ALL of the four 'Training Levelz'.

My schedule has been getting a bit tighter lately, but I definitely want to keep this going. I will work on The Miniature Masterz stage 3, Golf Anyone? over the next week or two.

I've started working on The Final Battle, though this will take a while - I might only be able to work more consistently on it next month.

I am now looking at The Miniature Masterz Stage 1 "Come Back With A Friend" for the possibilities of doing a V2 version of it. Many of the mini-puzzles are much larger than they need to be for the solutions, so it should be possible to retain the original mini-puzzles and add a few more ... with the originals being made more difficult, using other Toolz and Toyz. Just substituting Gauntletz for Time Bombz should make the Question Mark Switch puzzle more of a challenge. I have the idea of re-arranging everything so that the movement is spiraling out, eliminating Wormholez. I am enlisting Paint.Net to allow me to do "cut and paste" type design of the map itself before I invoke the Gruntz Level Editor.
BTW, in my testing of the original puzzle, just as I started the Question Mark Switch 'challenge', my laptop gave me a greater challenge ... the screen went blank just as I was stepping on the switch! The state of this computer is the main reason I have been taking the easy way out in Quest re-creations. The frustration of the frequent 'breaks' my video display takes have taken much of the joy out of Gruntzing, for me. And I am very concerned that the Windoze 8 computer will not even support Gruntz as well as this Vista laptop! So I am seriously considering taking my wife up on her offer of letting me use her old computer that has sat idle in the spare room for well over a year as my future Gruntz base. Without internet access, that will mean I will be doing a lot of 'sneakernet' processing, doing Forum and web site maintenance, uploads and downloads on the Windoze 8 computer, and other development on the old Windows XP computer. The price of flash/thumb drives has fallen so far that I recently purchased a 16GB flash for $5.99 ... and they were offering me a 128GB flash drive for $29.99! At those prices, I could put everything Gruntz on the new flash drive, and walk it between computers for transfers on-line. As a matter of fact, it would be cheaper to send out a flash drive with everything Gruntz than it is to create a Gruntz CD-ROM and Gruntz Extraz DVD and mail them out in a two disc slimline case. That's assuming that 4GB thumbs would be available for a couple of dollars ... before they are discontinued from marketing.

Don't know why you're looking at "Come back With a Friend" for a redesign, I've already taken work on that level. It's just about done too, just needs a proper Alpha test.

I missed that reference 'way back on page 1 of this thread ... I only really noticed "... Electrical Outletz", since an Announcement exists for it. When considering my next project, I went through the BETA Board, checking there for which puzzlez had been spoken for. I haven't done much beyond playing the original version to see what could be done with what Monolith's people provided. (It was pretty simple, really, with easily defeated enemies, and Time Bomb to get past obstacles that could have been challenging.

I just completed the ALPHA test of "Honey, I Shrunk The Gruntz" Stage 2 ... "Pay No Attention To The Grunt With The Shield V2", but have not created the "View the map!" image yet (it is my lunch time), so have not created an Announcement for it yet. More Coinz than the original, and more puzzlez to acquire them ... very little unused space, and about 23 minutes to a "PERFECT!" solve.

As time grows short until the November 30, 2015 dead-line for submissions, I have been taking on minimal changes to the existing versions of the 'Standard' Questz. These are marked with "ala MPI" to distinguish between original work (as "Bricklayerz...") and almost everything else. There are still six Questz which have not been accepted as challenges by anyone, and two that are being worked on (but have not been Announced fully) ... these have a grey background. Those with the Designer name of "Unknown" are available for anyone to take on. And all of those with the Designer listed as "GooRoo ala MPI" may be replaced by someone's original work. Lacking new participants, I will probably take on "Now Who Put That Warpstone Piece There?!" next ... "ala MPI". I have several errands to run, so it will likely be about two hours before I dig into that one. If it turns out to have possibilities for a complete re-work (not just "ala MPI"), I will start new, as i did with "Bricklayerz...".

I just completed an "ala MPI" version of "Candlez And Cupcakez And Bombz, Oh My!", adding a bit of difficulty to the original, and using more of the space that was filled only with EyeCandy for mini-puzzlez (with Coin prizez). For one thing, I felt that there were far too few Candlez(!) so added quite a few. Unless someone speaks up for an original version to replace my re-do, I will continue with it, adding in more Bombz (that is, more enemy Bomb Gruntz) and perhaps more Cupcakes, as well.

Well, enemy Bomb Grunt(z) just didn't work, but more Candlez and Cupcakez did ... and more enemy Gruntz (without Bombz) filled in more space and challenges. So I am making an Announcement for this one "ala MPI".

I am having Gaby teach me (via her excellent graphics submissions) how to create the playing card suits for use in the remake of the High Rollerz Stage 4 Quest "Keep Your Eye On The Ball V2". The original MPI version was only 32X32 tilez in size, while the rest of the High Rollerz Questz were on a 48X48 tile map, so I have elected to use a 48X48 tile map for the replacement. So far, the entire puzzle is merely an idea, with nothing actually done except the background ... four suit indicators, with the 'Bridge' major suits in a 'space' type environment, and the minor suits in water. The solution will proceed by Bridge suit rank from high to low, while operating Switchez , removing obstacles , etc. in order to allow the Rolling 8 Ball to make its way through the map so it may operate Switchez the solvers' Gruntz cannot reach. As in the original, there will be a means of pausing (briefly) the R8B in its path. Losing the R8B will essentially be "GAME OVER". The human will have to find the Red Warp and the Question Mark Switch (at the proper times), with the Red Warp leading only to the Warp Letter P .

Everything for "Keep Your Eye On The Ball V2" is done and tested except for the final act ... getting the Warpstone Piece to the King's Fortress. What remains is controlling the Rolling 8 Ball through the last of its path, to operate the final (otherwise unreachable) Switch to allow the prize to be given to his highness.
Oh, and by the way, there is only one Grunt doing all of the work, and ending up as the Hero who completes the journey.

I have been working piece by piece on "The Final Battle V2", and am unsure if I will be able to get it finished and tested before the deadline, knowing there is still a lot of work I have to get done over this month before I'm able to spend several consecutive hours on the level. I have faith, however, that I will get it done piece by piece. I might get a good portion of it done tonight, actually, so I'm not worried.
