With the major expenses of surgery to replace my wife's defective heart valve, I find it difficult to justify continuing to support Gruntz through my web site. GoDaddy has been repeatedly emailing me that if I don't renew the domain, I will lose it after August. They want (in addition to the $7.99 per month for the storage involve) $15.99 to renew the domain for one more year.
With my own inactivity, due to the Windows 10 problems in playing the game, and the scarcity of new submissions, the activity in this Forum has fallen off dramatically. Is there even any interest in maintaining this discussion medium ... enough to justify renewing?
I do know that I want this forum to continue existing at least for the sake of keeping the access to all the Gruntz levels that were created over the years. I am willing to send over the funds if need be.
I have my Gruntz Extraz DVD as up-to-date as possible, and can provide it at cost to anyone who wants it.
The worst part of giving up the GoDaddy web site storage (and the domain name) is the loss to all of the links to the files. That makes it difficult for me to reconcile the financial aspect versus the availability of Gruntzy things. If it were possible to make everything available from my personal computer, I would do just that, with my only expense being the electricity used by the computer 24/7. But I do not have Internet type software capability, so need to depend on those who do. But prices continue to rise for everything, with no special discounts for senior citizens ... or loyal long-term customers.
My wife's operation, tentatively scheduled for August 14, 2017 and its outcome will have a VERY large part in my decision about the domain.
