The News Fader was wiped out in the last 24 hours, and the only Gruntzerz with the authority to make changes to the News Fader are myself and the Global Moderators. It may be that a GMod was experimenting, and couldn't recover from the experiment ... if so, no harm, no foul. But if someone has managed to log in as either a GMod (or admin), steps must be taken to protect ourselves.
Passwords must be at least 6 characters in length, and I highly recommend much longer ones than that! Use a combination of UpPeR aNd LoWeR cAsE lEtTeRs AnD sPeCiAl #c&h$a@c)t_E*r^S and numbers1234567890. Avoid such things as birthdate or nickname as part of your password. If necessary, keep your password in a NotePad file (not named anything like password!), and copy from it, and paste into the proper place when you log in. Whatever you do, do not use your login name also as your password!!! I have a different password for every Forum I have joined ... another tip; don't set yourself up so that if someone cracks you in one Forum, you are wide open to being cracked everywhere. In ProBoards, the admin of a sub-domain does not have access to anyone's password; I cannot tell anyone what their password is, even if I were asked, and was positive the person asking was who s/he purported to be. But other Message systems may not be that secure against abuses. Don't get cracked on Forum XYZ, and open the door to be cracked here as well!

I would like to add that you should change your password frequently, once a week if possible.
