Searching through the Monolith Gruntz Forum, I came across this post: Author: Metroid Boy <Np777@Hotmail.com> **.***.**.*** Use this link if you want to link to this message and its entire thread of discussion. Date: 6/8/2004 3:14:25 PM Subject: RE: A Question SAD ACT!!!!!! I am an 11 year old got it! To retain "dude" (aka "Metroid Boy") as a member would be a violation of the ProBoards Terms of Service agreed to when this Forum was established. I will delete the account of "dude" as soon as I post this thread, and will ban the IP address in less than 6 hours. The delay in banning is to allow "dude" to read this post, and hopefully understand that there is no malice intended in this action. It is the law. In order to be able to keep this Forum operating, I must take this action. Sorry, "dude" ... I hope you will not think badly of us, and will return when you turn 13, and have parental permission to do so.

I, along with GooRoo and Bea, am sorry that we have to delete your account with us and ban you from this forum. It is too bad that we have to do this, but thanks to all the wierdos, kooks, and freaks who haunt the Internet looking for young, innocent kids, we have no choice but to abide by the laws and rules that have been set down to protect our young people. Please understand that this is not about you, but is for your own safety. : First, ironic, isn't it, for us to be required to kick someone like ")ude" off, yet he may freely use the Monolith Gruntz forum which is totally unmoderated and most any yokel can post freely there and spout any kind of garbage and filth almost without fear of consequence.
Second, it is also rather ironic, in light of this particular situation and the reasons for it, that today our United States Supreme Court stated that a law designed to keep Internet porn peddlers from putting their junk where our children could easily access it was "probably" unconstitutional. I don't think they actually made a ruling on the law, just offered an opinion. Where has reason, sanity, precedent, and rule of law gone in our system of jurisprudence? [End of editorial comment--I'm getting down off my soapbox now]

We must be careful, kids are evil! That's not the reason, Bjarni. The reason is that cyberspace has too many freaks, kooks, and wierdo's populating it who are looking to exploit young children. And unfortunately, it is harder to lock them up and throw away the keys than it is to keep the youngsters off of forums like this one. So we opt for the easier solution.

It'z not a rule....it'z a law. Consequencez are much more serious for breaking lawz than rulez. Plus, laws have no 'tip-toe around' wayz.
