Wow, that was fast! Thank you for your kind comments, GooRoo. You're right about the holes, and in the walkthrough I intend to let the solver know when some of them should just be ignored. I will only say that as in the namesake (Stargate: SG1), these gruntz are a team and stay together even when they are not all needed.

I have not completed the BETA testing as yet. I have just seen enough to know that it will be a very interesting CL to solve.
Oldone, you should check your PMz, as I will be uploading some screenshotz of your CL to my web host, and linking to them in the PM regarding some changez I think need to be made ... nothing fatal to an experienced Gruntzer, but fatal to the game should an inexperienced Gruntzer take a certain action.

I made the appropriate changes and will send it along with the walkthrough sometime over the weekend. I need to add some voices too, I forgot about that until I checked my changes. Let me know if there is anything else.

In the meantime, I will continue testing the current version for (possible) changes/corrections. Now it is off to the Gruntz game to try to solve "Stargate Gruntz" without resorting to cheating.

Oh Wow! As a MAJOR Stargate fan I can't wait to give this game a try. But I have to finish Pilgrims Progess first.

Designer: Hold onto your hatz, Gruntzerz! ... As soon as I verify that there are no fatal flawz in the CL, I will move this thread for it into the "Gruntz In Space" Board (with full linkz, etc.) and send it out to the Gruntz Fanz as well. we are hungry for more brain food...

Well, I can find no fatal errorz with the CL ... but I also failed to find the last Coin, so no "PERFECT!" for me. I will be uploading the CL to my web host, and then will make the necessary linkz to it ... and the Walkthrough (Yes, there is one!) but with an error that will return "Page not found". As with "Pilgrim's Progress" I will withhold the walkthrough for a week or so, until Gruntzerz have had a chance to solve it on their own ... and the successful onez have answered some questionz posed by those (temporarily) stumped by something. Then it is off to try to find that elusive final Coin, so I can post a Statz Page with a "PERFECT!" score. After uploading to my web host, and creating the linkz, moving the thread to "Gruntz In Space", etc., I will send out the CL to the "Gruntz Fanz". So you Gruntz Fanz may either download it from here, or go to your e-mail inbox and SAVE the attachment WWD.

I will have to play this again myself, as I, too, could not find a coin. I'm wondering if something is wrong or if I'm just very forgetful. Good luck to everyone, I hope you enjoy it.
p.s. I believe I put in 48 coins. At least that's how many I counted in the editor. Does anyone know what the Stats page says?

My Statz Page showed 45 of 46 Coinz. I am not incredibly familiar with the changez between the original CL, and the one just released, so this is pure speculation: Did you change any Rock or Hole/Mound to a Brick? The Gruntz game engine will not report that as an error, but it will be impossible to acquire a Coin associated with a Brick. I know that there is no Coin associated with a toggling bridge Tile, so it cannot be a timing problem (as in "Knight'z Tour") where the solver could pick up a Coin, but not have it counted for the Statz Page. So the Brick/CoveredPowerup combination seemz to be the only possibility ... other than my frequent disease of "blind in one eye, and cannot see out of the other".

I going to have to check things over tomorrow. I wanted 45 coins, but the Statz page said 46. Now when I recounted them again, I got 47. Something is out of joint, but we'll get it fixed. If anyone gets a Perfect, holler before I make any changes!

I just went through the GLE on this CL and found 46 legitimate Coinz: 31 CoveredPowerupz and 15 InGameIconz. I also found 2 CoveredPowerupz with the Coin ID in the wrong place. I believe that I somehow just failed to dig up a Coin, or break a Rock Crystal to uncover a Coin, the reason for my failure to achieve a "PERFECT!" ... but where? I was working on other Gruntz-related thingz, and never did get into re-playing the CL to see where that last Coin that I missed was located. Maybe tomorrow. (sigh) At least, my effort to find a Coin in an invalid location bore other fruit; I have a complete Coin inventory for the HTML member for the walkthrough, and also the location of InGameIcon/CoveredPowerup/Megaphone requested Toolz, Toyz and PowerUpz, and the four WARP letterz! So all I have to do is determine the approximate order of acquiring the Coinz to be able to provide the Coin list for the CL. I will follow your walkthrough to give sequential numberz to the Coinz (as under breakable objectz before diggable onez where your walkthrough sayz the Colonel goez before the Captain), even though the necessity of avoiding UFOz and the like will mean that it is highly unlikely that the Coinz will be acquired in any particular order.

Thank you for all your efforts. You've been such a great help, I wish there was some way to repay your kindness.
I found the 2 CoveredPowerupz with the misplaced IDs. Are you making corrections? You certainly have my permission. I will end up downloading the CL from here so that we are all on the same page, so to speak. I thought about doing the walkthrough like you've been doing but somehow I couldn't separate it all out in my brain. Seeing my own words rearranged will help me sort it out.
Thanks again.

I just replayed and managed to get a Perfect. (Sorry, but I forgot to take a screenshot ) There are 46 coins. One coin is totally hidden, but I did leave a clue to its whereabouts.

Thank you for all your efforts. You've been such a great help, I wish there was some way to repay your kindness. I consider two new Custom Levelz to be more than adequate payment! (But feel free to leave 'tipz' as the spirit movez you. ) What would you like: corrections so there are 48 Coinz, or something else, or nothing at all? I will send you all of the components (HTML attachmentz) in e-mail, and below are instructionz for organizing folderz on your hard drive, in order to be able to display the entire walkthrough by selecting "Index.html". Some componentz are re-usable by an author, and some by everyone, so there are three tierz: Everyone: (These even may be used for the Standard Levelz!) - C:\Games\Gruntz\Walkthroughz\
- Glossary.html
- HappyKing.html
- HowToPlay.html
Where Games is the path to your Gruntz folder ... it may be several folderz deep. (But I feel that simply "C:\Games\" is sufficient for our purposez. )
Author: (Your Gruntz 'handle', as oldone.)
- C:\Games\Gruntz\Walkthroughz\Custom\Author\
- Author.html
- Acknowledgementz.html (optional)
Custom Level: ("Stargate Gruntz", for example.)
- C:\..\Author\Level Name\
- About.html (Sometimes the title of the Custom Level suggests what play may be like.)
- Coinz.html (Ideal: an ordered (numbered? ... Great!) list of Coinz to be acquired)
- Gruntz.html (A list of all of the Gruntz and the Toolz/Toyz they start out with; newly baked Gruntz as well.)
- Index.html (the controlling part of the document)
- Secretz.html (Red Warp and Secret Switch (?) locationz)
- Toolz.html (optional ... if Gruntz start with Toolz and acquire no new onez)
- Toyz.html (optional ... if Gruntz start with Toyz and acquire no new onez)
- PowerUpz.html (optional ... none may be required in the CL)
- Walkthrough.html (where you write the 'How to', perhapz in story form )
- Warp letterz.html (where you find any "W", "A", "R", and/or "P" goodiez)
- Statz.jpg (screenshot of a "PERFECT!" result, if possible)
- IMAGE1.jpg supporting screenshotz for your walkthrough.
- Perfectly acceptable image namez are "Picture1", "Figure1", "CrumbleBridge", etc.

Unfortunately, my SAVE was after I had passed by the 46 th Coin. After using the GLE in an attempt to locate a possible problem with Coinz, I see where I failed to dig it up ... me, the perpetrator (no, prolificator ... Paul was the original perpetrator) of the Magic Shovel! The two miscoded CoveredPowerupz are not a problem at all. I have changed those two itemz into Zap Cola canz (neutral 'goodies'), but have not done a SAVE on my hard drive as yet. (I really do not see any need for any change anyway.) My GLE window is minimized until I receive a response about making any changes, and re-uploading to the web host, so I can simply close without SAVEing ... or SAVE and re-upload it. In the meantime, I will go back to work on the walkthrough, and get it ready for uploading to the web host. The only major item remaining is to do the Coinz list ... but it is a time-consuming task. I only have an hour before the baseball game startz, so it probably will be after my dinner time before I have everything done and tested, to send to oldone via e-mail for final approval before uploading it to the web host.

I'm a little bit confused about the second trip... ... I've got gautletz, spongegun , shovelz and barehanded... should I send shovelz and barehanded through the right+left second row Stargate ... where barehanded gets springz and then wingz... ... or should I send all four gruntz trough the middle 4 Stargatez... ... ... please...
