Part of the problem is that he should not have the game installed on his computer at all, if he does not own the game. The CD-ROM is required to run the game (or have the RealArcade downloadable version ... no CD-ROM required). The DEMO version (which has the first four Levelz (Rocky Roadz) of the full game) is best downloaded from a source (such as the Monolith Gruntz Forum, or here) and installed ... not backed-up on one computer, and loaded to another.

Another Windows problem... I've installed the game on my notebook. Everytime I want to start a level, it loads... and disappears. The game simply exits.

Another Windows problem... I've installed the game on my notebook. Everytime I want to start a level, it loads... and disappears. The game simply exits. Does this happen regardless of what (type of) level you try to load, Standard or Custom? Or does it only happen with a certain Custom Level? If a certain Custom Level will not load, there is a problem with that CL ... Brick without Brickz logic, for example. I sometimes get a message something like "unable to initiate draw mode", when I have many graphics-intensive programs already running when I try to start up Gruntz. That is the only universal (doesn't matter what I am trying to play) error I have ever seen.

Hmmm... I do not have any custom levelz on this notebook... My two other PCs had this problem too. But I cannot remember how I have solved it...

I believe that Gruntz works best if the path is:
C:\GAMES\GRUNTZ
to the game, SAVE areas, etc., and the Gruntz Level Editor, with
C:\GAMES\GRUNTZ\Custom
being (then) the proper path to Custom Levelz.
Also, it is best to have the Version 1.01 patch applied, and the Windows XP (no matter what similar vintage version you use) screen resolution patch(es) for 800X660 and/or 1024X768 displays. (No one has reported any problems with using the XP patch on 2000/ME, etc.).

With the 61.77 drivers i can play it in 1024x768 all above the 61.77 i can't play Gruntz in 1024x768 i have now the GeForce 6600 GT and again i can't play it in 1024x768
