I've had this problem for quite some time but have just worked around it. When I play Gruntz and come to a checkpoint (even in the Quests levels), I don't get the SAVE window pop-up. Is it something I've done to turn off that feature or just a corrupted Gruntz file?

Are you supposed to get one automatically when you come to a checkpoint?? I don't think I ever have. I just hear the gruntz telling me to save. And of course I get the pop-up when I hit F2 or SAVE.

Is it something I've done to turn off that feature or just a corrupted Gruntz file? I did that once, myself, so know that it is possible that you responded yes to "don't...", and turned off the notification. I since purchased a new computer and (when I) installed Gruntz, and the notification was there the next time I satisfied a CheckPoint. I do not know of any way to reverse the "don't ask me again" type of action ... other than re-installing Gruntz.

I did that once--turned off the notification feature when one satisfies a checkpoint. There is a way to turn the feature back on, but it involves going into the registry using the regedit function and resetting a value. Definitely not something for the faint of heart or the novice. One wrong move and you will be in deep . I know which key needs to be changed, but am unsure as to the setting of the value. I wouldn't want to attempt to tell how to do it, get something wrong and mess up your system. I have trouble enough with mine. Paul was the one who guided me in returning the setting to its default state. Unfortunately I have long since misplaced his e-mail to me explaining how to do it. Perhaps you could try e-mailing him and ask him how to go about doing it. Or you could try e-mailing Kevin; surely he could tell you what you need to do. The only other alternatives would be to continue using your workaround or uninstalling then reinstalling the game--not an appetizing prospect, either.

Thanks for the info folks. I wound up reinstalling the game. Then I had to install the 2 patches before it would work on my computer.

I really don't to go through the trouble of reinstalling, so I'll just keep trying to remember to save. Funny though, I don't remember seeing that message when I switched from RealArcade to the CD.

The only time you would be prompted for a SAVE, is if the level has a CheckPoint Flag associated with the CheckPoint Switch. No flag, no prompt; two flags , two prompts (three or more flags ... heavens!).

THAT'S why I disabled that feature! Now I remember! I got tired of being reminded multiple times at the same checkpoint to save the game! I may yet again disable it! Some folks just don't know when 1 save reminder is enough!

I released a few Custom Levelz with multiple CheckPoint Flags because I thought two flags was more aesthetically 'pleasing'. I would modify those CLz, if it wouldn't cause confusion on the 'date created', etc. So all I can do is apologize for my error(s).

Yeah i noticed that in G.O.L.F. ( gents only ladiez forbidden) I found it rather annoying...to have to save 2 or 3 times WHILE a spongegruntz waz trying to kill me....didn't know if it waz a glitchz or "an Evil game deziner" ( remind me to send him some hate mail)

Evil game designer, obviously. Live and learn. I have since changed to both fewer CheckPointz, and a single CheckPointFlag when I provide CheckPointz.
