This is the first Battles puzzle designed by Blaze The Movie Fan. This puzzle is currently not available from Paul's Gruntz Page. Those on the 'Gruntz Fanz' mailing list received it around November 15, 2003.

Hmm.. "Density: Loose" is a bit of an understatement.
This battlez level is like fighting in siberia... lots of blank open space. You have to hike around to get anywhere and there's not much visual eye candy to keep you entertained on the way.
I do like that it's not symmetrical. Spices things up a bit but this levelz is too bare of meaningful obstacles and challenges. Once you figure out the handful of pitfalls, it's very easy.
Doesn't really matter what number of gruntz you play with.

Where do I even start...
That one powerup I grabbed was the entirety of how I won. It lasted multiple minutes, was kind of easy to grab and just did way too much damage, so much that the single timebomb grunt I sent out did all the work in one go. It doesn't help that every powerup is invulnerability, and every weapon in the middle is a sword. Not much diversity to be had and what you get is... way too strong. Aside from the middle section that contains those two things en masse, there's not much to see though. The map's really empty, and it's not even symmetrical which bothers me and probably lends itself poorly to balance. The forts don't have much in the way of defenses, and may be conquerable with wingz only, although I haven't confirmed that. There's no waypoints or guardpoints so AI behaves awkwardly, and warnings that your fort is under attack come quite late. To add the cherry on top of the cake, you can also see enemies' bricks, and no music plays in this map. And if you don't pay enough attention, your gruntz could walk the wrong way and end up on one of the many death tilez.
Unfortunately I'm gonna have to be blunt and say that it has way too many issues to be considered a fun map to play, be it against humans or AI.

A lot of work (for me to do!) on this one, as I never set up a folder for it. Consequently virtually everything needs to be constructed so far after the fact, that my failing memory is a problem all by itself! Hopefully, at least the Announcement table is correct, and does not need any modification.
But a big Thank You for creating that Statz Page image, to get me started.

Honestly, I was a stupid kid back then that wanted everything easy. It really is embarrassing how I made stuff easy to the point it's insulting. It's bad enough I did it with my custom quest levels, but this proves I wasn't any better when it came to battle levels, I'm so ashamed.
Yeah, everything MMM said was accurate. But what makes it even worse is that the AI's are too dumb to realize they are supposed to ignore the slime, so you don't have to worry about enemy grunts from the other side taking over your castle.
Yeah, it's embarrassing how easy it is to get swords in this level, as well as how easy it is to get invincibility powerup. And they all also spawn far too quickly.
I am ashamed of this level I really am. It is one of the worst battle levels ever made.
