The resolution patch that works on Windows XP does not work on Windows Vista. After a bit of research, I managed to find out why, and have updated the patch to work in Vista.
The download (for both XP and Vista) cannot be found here (the link is broken ... AlexAndGruntz did not renew the web host.

The download (for both XP and Vista) can be found here. I will upload the Vista resolution patchez and the revised ReadMe.txt file to the web host, and ensure that there are linkz to them. I am on XP (HE) myself, but I keep drooling over these new laptopz (equipped with Vista) that have 320GB hard drivez, DVD R/W drivez (with disc labeling capabilitiez(!)) that handle CDz as well. If I opened up my wallet for one of those, the new screen resolution patchez would be extremely handy to have!

I just purchased a laptop today, with Vista as the OS. Applied the Vista 1024 registration ... and Grunt would not run! Perhapz the problem is that my laptop has a 'CinemaScope' type screen ... the ratio is definitely not 4:3 ... the physical size is 13.5" wide by 7.7" tall. (I have not tried hooking the laptop up to my 'standard' monitor (14.7" wide by 11.8" tall) as yet, in case that would make a difference. I also have not altered the default screen resolution (1366X768) so 1024X768 ... yet.) But I just tried the 800X600 screen resolution patch, and with that the Gruntz game does run.

I will make sure that the several screen resolution (registry) patches are available for download
The first ones are individual .reg files, very small (126 bytes, for example). The zip file is almost 8 years old, and may contain something useful.
Please be patient ... if it does not work right now, it will work within an hour of this posting!

Thanks so much GooRoo. I'll try putting them on tonight and let you know if they work. Hope so. The game is great whichever but the great big gruntz are kinda hard to move around when you can't see very far down the road.

Explain which operating system you are running, and something about the physical computer (32-bit, 64-bit, etc.) and what maximum resolution your computer supports ... and which one you chose.

I'm not real sure about all that, but here goes. It's about 10 yrs old (or more), a Dell,64-bit, Windows XP and the only patch that works on it is 800 x 600. But it is so much better than the original size and you get used to it.

But it is so much better than the original size and you get used to it. I am reasonably certain that when I had an XP computer, that a 1024X768 screen resolution worked. Perhaps that nearly 8 year old ZIP file contains a 1024 version for XP ... or a Vista version works under XP.

I tried many times on my other XP to use the 1024x768 but it never worked. I've never tried the Vista version though. Maybe I should.
