I am updating some HTML documentation componentz, and became side-tracked while working on "Trouble In The Tropicz". I presume that the graphicz designerz of Gruntz were hard-pressed for time, and that is the reason for so many duplicationz, and so many holez in the image setz. Now, I am not an artist ... I can draw a straight line (if you let me use a ruler), and I do not have the most sophisticated Paint programz around to work with. But I quickly managed to create some tilez that (if I could handle PIDz) would provide a bit more variety to the appearance of TITT Custom Levelz. (These are not all of the tilez I could have revised.) Examplez: What I have done in this set could be as easily done in every graphicz set ... and areaz 4 through 8 have even more duplicationz (and missing tilez!). And these are just the tilez in the Water set! There are similar opportunities in Level Change (tilez #40 through #73+), Death Tilez (tilez #104 through #139+) and literally ooodlez(!) of Ground Tilez (tilez #1 through #36).

The holidays have just started here, so I'll try and round up someone who can reverse engineer the level editor, at least.

There then is a tile sorely missed in every graphicz set: and its partner . Paint.net is a very user-friendly program that has allowed me to do the various thingz you have seen recently on this Forum: - Main page menu buttonz
- Posting buttonz
- UBBC buttonz
- Some Avatarz
- My signature
- 'cleaner' emoticonz (aka 'smileyz')
Along with Advanced GIF Animator, the green grin has been replaced with a yellow version. (I'm keeping the green around for a future St. Patrick's Day.) The blue Cry is now yellow. And I feel confident that I can create good looking replacementz for duplicated tilez, filling in the gapz of each graphicz set ... if I can only manipulate .PID filez!

I can quickly create tilez now ... in GIF or JPG formatz ... but cannot convert them into PID format in order to replace tilez in the .REZ (.VRZ or .VZZ) file for use in Gruntz Custom Levelz. I believe it will also affect the appearance of (some of) the Standard Levelz!
The graphicz artistz were apparently quite rushed (and did not communicate well with each other), since there is the problem in "High Rollerz" with reversed light and dark areaz, and the Static Hazard background exception. And it is a very difficult graphicz set to produce mapz that look 'right'. (The plateau and gully (level change) tilez are not very well done ... and obvious where they belong. One northwest corner tile extendz too far to the north, for example.)

I've found a friend who will examine the game (the demo , but it will possibly work with the full version), and will write a .jpg/.gif to .pid converter, if he can figure it out.
