Recently I've been working on my little side-project, titled "Gruntz Scrooge". What does it do? Well, it lists all of the items needed to get the PERFECT result. All you need to do is drop a CL onto this application and in result you get full statz, saved in the same folder as CL ( so you can place the application anywhere you want - it won't affect the result in any way). Below are links to the teaser-like screenshot with Gruntz Scrooge in action and to application itself. It does not allow compressed documents though, but don't worry. Compression algorithm has been successfully implemented by kijanek6 and soon ( I hope ) I'll update this thread. www.speedyshare.com/files/24113930/Gruntz_Scrooge.exeAny feedback and comments are really welcomed Tomalla

The original version you provided to me worked extremely well ... except for not creating a file for the output. Even that was not much of a problem, since I could do Prt Sc (a time or two ... or three, depending on the number of objectz), trim them and merge them into a single file. I am impressed by the fact that you used the object's pixel coordinatez, and translated them into tile coordinatez! So many CLz have CalcCowIDz done only on Switchez (which must have that done!), and in the past I had to locate the nearest Switch and count left/right/up/down from there to the object I wanted to place into the inventory. You even went so far as to indicate whether the object was hidden (CoveredPowerup)! I also loved the Megaphone information! Well done! For anyone wanting to use this program: Create a folder within your Gruntz folder (good folder name to use is "AddOnz") ... place your downloaded filez there. Now I will have to the latest version (V1.2) and its Compressed mode 'assistant' (made available for anyone to use) and see what goodiez you have wrought for me! They are 'goodiez', indeed!

Gruntzerz, you may use the link in the previous post (by me) to download this nice tool created by Tomalla. It has been scanned by CheckPoint's Zone Alarm anti-virus/anti-spyware software (in advanced mode!) with no harmful activity taking place. I have used it several timez, and find it extremely useful in my projectz of writing walk-throughz. Any time that Tomalla providez me with an update, it will go through that same advanced scan process before I replace the file on the web host ... I want to keep you safe, just as I do my best to keep myself safe and free from any malware. As soon as I finish the Designer index in HTML, I will produce a "cook book" document on how to use the program ... though it really doesn't need one. In the version 1.1 that I have as I am typing this, the stepz I take are: - Open the Gruntz Level Editor
- Select the Gruntz (Custom) Level map (.WWD) to analyze
- Select the World/Properties item
- Remove the check mark from the 'Compress' box
- Click Okay
[/s] not necessary for Version 1.2 (or later) [/li][li]"Save as.." the same name, but in the folder for the (Custom) Level under the Designer [/li][li]Open a window for the folder containing "Gruntz Scrooge.exe" [/li][li]Open a window containing the WWD you just SAVEd [/li][li]'drag' the WWD file name over the file name "Gruntz Scrooge.exe" [/li][li]If your security program prompts, allow the action [/li][li]Close the window in which "Gruntz Scrooge.exe" ran (not extremely important time-wise) [/li][li] Click on the new file created in the folder "CustomLevel_statz.txt to view the resultz! [/li][/ul] I use the NotePad display and edit the txt file, marking the itemz off as I process them. While I advocate creating folderz for each Designer, and folderz within them for each Custom Level the Designer has had released, I doubt that (m)any of you have done so. So you may want to create a 'throw-away' folder in which you place the uncompressed WWD, and delete both the WWD and the TXT filez when you are finished.

Here's the next, and I suppose the final version ( v1.2 ) of Gruntz Scrooge: www.speedyshare.com/files/24203642/GruntzScrooge.rarIt consists of two files this time - *.exe and *.dll. Both should be in the same folder in order for the application to work. As you can guess, compressed documents are not the problem now Cheers

As you can guess, compressed documents are not the problem now Cheers So then I should create another folder under Gruntz containing those two filez (for ease in finding it, and placing it nearest where it is most useful). I just have a problem with archivez (compressed) filez, and have to trust to CheckPoint's ZoneAlarm to keep me safe from malware. I only hope I have a program that knowz how to extract from .RAR filez! It seemz that every time I have had to do a search for a program to handle a file of type 'X' ... I pick a source site that is either infected ... or an intentional spreader of malware. Edit: Well, as I guessed, I do not have a program capable of extracting the contentz of a .RAR file. The web search found several examplez of programz that might be able to do the job, but the two (WinZIP and WinRAR) I browsed both wanted ca$h for the programz ... that I do not have to spare. Since I never heard of any of the other sourcez, I am unable to extract Version 1.2.

There's a lot of archive types, *.rar is the best of them imho. To open *.rar archive, download Win-RAR from its official site: www.win-rar.com/download.html... or use another file archiver which supports RAR format. On the other hand, *.zip archives are supported by Windows initially. If you'd like to I can repack them to ZIP archive ( but I don't see any point of this ).

7ZIP is Open Source software, you could use this one then.

7ZIP is Open Source software, you could use this one then. I downloaded the "40 day free trial" version of WinRAR and used it to extract the filez. I quickly used it on one of my older CLz without a walk-through, by copying the WWD into the folder that contained everything else about the puzzle, then dragging it onto the Gruntz Scrooge.exe file (now in a folder "AddOnz" in my Gruntz folder) and it worked perfectly! That eliminatez the stepz about opening the GLE through OK, replacing them with 'Copy' and 'Paste' stepz. (Every little bit helpz!)
