I've just checked it out of curiosity only to find out your readme file makes use of my old Gruntz Patcher using batch commands. That's a surprise. You'd been testing the newest version with the fully functional GUI yourself and didn't update the readme file after all? When people want to mod Gruntz, which isn't as often as I'd like it to be, I highly recommend everyone to use the newest version which is way, way more user friendly than its predecessor.

It's mostly because I forgot about this new version. Sorry. I'll contact you on Skype about that.
I even wondered if you mentioned this version previously on the forum, only to find your post about it buried in one of the older threads with practically no response...

Okay, the readme from the ZIP file was updated to incorporate the use of the 1.0.0 version of the Gruntz REZ Patcher. It indeed should be used instead of 0.1.0, since it's WAY easier to use.

If somebody has time, it would be a great thing to have a thread to document all these programs you use to handle the REZ, ANI, PID, music and other filez.

I second that emotion ... since WinRezLT is claimed to have a Trojan virus, and my firewall quarantinez every version I have been able to find. And to be able to manipulate PIDz would also be a real plus. As to animationz, I use GIF Animator for the transparent animationz used in the Forum.

I'd love to download the titleset and use it to make another level.
But the thing is I have retired from level making and I'm sticking to that.

In reading through this thread, looking for possible broken linkz, I ran across the discussion about the 'future' Gruntz Level Editor possibility of alternate graphicz setz. Duh! How many timez have we been presented with "Cannot find Gruntz.REZ file. Would you like to...". The answer has alwayz been "Yes" and entering the path in both the REZ and EXE stringz. So why not make those same changez, but then add '1' (or '2' ... or 'N'!) just before ".REZ"? Thereby using an entirely new set of graphicz! We already have some talented people who have designed alternate tilez, and otherz who have managed to make changez to a REZ file (I can't ... my Firewall says that WinRezLT contains a Trojan, and immediately quarantines every version I have been able to locate). So we only need someone who can modify a REZ file to coordinate the (re-)building of graphicz setz, and graphically talented people to create them. Coordinate, so that we don't have two (or more) people designing a replacement for Area 5 (High Rollerz, now). Then, there is only the minor problem of telling the Gruntz Level Editor that we want to use Gruntz1.REZ instead of Gruntz.REZ in designing a Custom Level. Those who have experimented with alternate tile setz have already determined how to do that, so we are that much closer to "Gruntz 2" type puzzle capabilitiez.

Another option available to us would be using the Gruntz.zzz archive from the v1.01 patch to apply new changes. The ZZZ archive is just a REZ archive, after all.

Is it possible that you are "applying" for the position of Gruntz#.REZ coordinator? Since you seem to be able to update your own REZ/ZZZ files (and I cannot), you would certainly be a candidate.

Yeah, sure. I can help with that. I would prefer the Gruntz1.REZ methodology over using Gruntz.ZZZ for changez to graphics sets. The next problem would be making any alternative .REZ file available to solverz, since it is such a large file. A normal WWD runz from single-digit KB to less than 50KB, while Gruntz.REZ is about 73.6MB and Gruntz.VRZ is about 86.6MB ... over 1,000 times as large, and inappropriate for distribution via e-mail. So any new CL using an alternative REZ (or VRZ) file would require a disclaimer that FILEX (@xxmb) is required in addition to the puzzle, itself. My web host has plenty of space available beyond what is currently in use, and can be the collection point. (I wonder what the download time would be, for a file that size?)
