So I am gonna try downloading all the levels available while I still can. It will be too late eventually. You can use a program like HTTrack to automatically download every directory of a website, making it (and it's contents) accessible via offline archive.

Of course, that is still dependent on me still "sucking air"! I am sure my wife will not continue to pay for it, if I am no longer around. Since you brought that up... is there a way to take over the forum and continue paying for it in the event you are no longer able to? I would be ready to do it if need be. What is required is to have the admin's (mine) original password used to set up the ProBoards Forum and a request to ProBoards Support to become the owner of this Forum. I have that password taped to the old Sauder computer desk that I now use as storage over the 5 foot by 3 foot desk I inherited when the company I worked for was closed down. So my wife could provide it to someone, to continue the Forum. As to the GoDaddy web site 'takeover', I have no idea what would be required. Years ago I gave Gaby co-adminstrator access to the GoDaddy web site, but I doubt she ever did anything about it. I guess I should correspond with GoDaddy to find out how to transfer the web hosting account to someone else if anything happened to me. The monthly data storage charge is only $5.99, and I believe the domain renewal fee is somewhere around $10.00, so the financial aspect is not that big a deal. Since I use it as my personal 'cloud' for things besides Gruntz, I will continue with it as long as I am "sucking air".

I don't wanna download the walkthroughs though just the levels.

Alright I have decided, I will download all the levels this weekend.
That way I can still play all the levels even after they all are offline.

It will still be around until at least the 28 th of August, 2015. So there is no rush in downloading anything! And for the gentle price of $10.00 (USA currency) one can have a DVD which contains ALL of Gruntz available at the time of the request, including (any) walk-throughs that exist, map images, etc. I am gradually adding in even the Announcement posts used on this Forum for the Quest Custom Levelz.

I know August 2015 is over half a year away, but I still wanna download the levels just to be sure I have them on my computer. Also, I don't like the DVD idea. Neither me or Zu are even from the United States like you are, do you have any idea how expensive it'd be to send a DVD over to another country? How exactly do you manage to hand either of us that DVD?

Well, I have all of the levels up to 2006 downloaded, well almost. There are some broken links.
I probably won't finish downloading before the end of the weekend, because there is a video I need to work on and finish in a few days.
But when I'm done downloading all the levels I'll let you know.
And no, I'm not panicking, I just wanna make sure I have all the levels available before it's too late.
And the best part about Gruntz levels is the fact that they are very small in size. Even the biggest ones are less than 100KB. So I never have to worry about filling up my computer with them.

Haha, this situation has caused a positive effect at least. Thanks for testing all the download links Blaze.

Haha, this situation has caused a positive effect at least. Thanks for testing all the download links Blaze. Testing the links was not my intention though but you're welcome. Anyway, I have downloaded all the levels. The community here might for the most part be dead, but I'm far from done playing Gruntz. In fact I will keep on playing it as long as I exist since I love the game that much. It is sad to see that most great level makers have left. The only ones left are GooRoo and Zu. But at least they left with a bunch of levels for me to play. It will take me years to play all of them especially since I only play Gruntz to make a let's play of a level. Making a let's play where I know what I'm supposed to do isn't as fun. So yeah. And merry Christmas to all.

Less than one month to the 13th anniversary of the start-up of this discussion forum for Gruntz!
Last year we re-hashed the original Monolith Productions, Inc. puzzlez, some entirely new, some just modified versions (rotated, etc.) of the originals. With the Windows 10 problems, and more and more of our people forced to migrate (some say upgrade ... I see it as downgrade) from operating systems which supported adequately, if not ideally, our favorite game, I don't see any massive production of new puzzles for this anniversary. This entire year has almost gone by with very few submissions, so this may be the last anniversary of this forum that sees any real activity.
I do NOT intend to let the web site support for Gruntz go away. The forum will remain as a resource for fans to acquire puzzlez they may have missed, as years have gone by. The "young bucks" may even come up with solutions to the problems of non-support of the Gruntz game engine, so the forum still may provide something new for those of us who have been enjoying this game for so long. The possibility of acquiring (or resurrecting) an old computer running one of the old operating systems that still allow Gruntz to be played is what keeps this old fan hopeful.

This discussion forum is now in its fourteenth year of existence. But without new puzzles, and the ability to play them (Windows 8 & 10 have made that difficult), it is hard for me to imagine that it will complete fourteen years. Oh, it will likely still be here, as long as I am, but the activity level will approach zero. I still hope to make the older desktop computer that was my wife's available to play Gruntz ... which will also allow me to create some new Questz. But the process of creating enough space to use another computer in my very small room (7 foot by 11 foot) which has multiple uses beyond being a computer room ... my library of about a thousand books, and storage for video DVDs and music CDs, tool storage and my Keurig coffee machine ... has been a challenge.

Let us not skip the fact that many Gruntz related things moved forward considerably throughout entire last year, even though this November has been quite silent on the forums. Some of that might not be apparent to a person only browsing this site because it was our Discord Chat that generated a lot of activity (discussions).
Since last December, a couple of methods for running the game on newer systems were found and listed in one place, we also finally got to play Gruntz Multiplayer, testing nearly all Custom Battlez that were published over the years. Forum boards were rearranged and informational threads for new members updated, something that has not been touched since time immemorial. The GLE Manual, download links and indices were complemented, a few older maps revisited, among other stuff.
And we still have things that can be touched upon! I look forward to the next year of our community, hopefully people's interest in Gruntz will not decline at least until then.
