The level is so named because shortly after the start of the level, two gruntz are resurrected and almost immediately go to battle with straw gruntz, leaving minimum health for the rest of the game.

The level is just about done (probably some minor tweakz and add some EyeCandy), anyone wanting to beta test?

If it's nothing too hard, then I think I could give it a shot.

If it's nothing too hard, then I think I could give it a shot. Nothing that would require a second save slot, though one part of a secret may be a bit harder to figure out PM your email address and I'll send the beta version through.

Zu, have you had a chance to beta test yet?

Sorry, I was distracted with other thingz. Here are my thoughts about the level: * Maybe I'm just stupid, but I just can't find any reasonable way to get rid of these three sword guyz; I had to remove them in GLE in order to progress through the level at all. It's strongly advised to make defeating them easier. * It's strongly advised to have at least one safe spot when walking through the bridgez on the black pool, especially if you put some devious traps in there. * It's strongly advised to add some clearer information which grunt (one of sword gruntz or the gauntletz grunt) is supposed to go through which portal. A recommended solution is to add a checkpoint switch that requirez a certain tool on the way to each portal. Unfortunately, adding spikez next to one of the portalz doesn't work. It could have been a little bit more effective if the pool wasn't so big... * We need some sort of information when the Secret Switch will create a bridge over the black pool. A slowly appearing path of arrowz would be nice. * Also, a black pool where you can swim in. Sorry, but this is just so totally unexpected and unpredictable that I realized what's going on only after a bunch of reloading. And while this is a very interesting find, I strongly recommend replacing it with just regular bridge. * There should be some better hintz at the Red Portal's location. Right now, there is basically nothing that could tell us where it is, and with so much empty space around, there is no hint "oh, hey, this place looks unusually empty, let's check it out" either. Because of this, I missed the Red Portal during my first run, and had to look for it in GLE. My suggestion is putting some arrowz in in north-west and south-west corners of the map, as well as in the pit of that sword grunt on the right. Also, my general complaint is that you should have used less space for this level. Right now, it's basically overblown with lots of unnecessarily empty space that only confuses the solver. But aside of all those remarks, it's a nice level. I especially liked the use of One-Hit-One-Death technique. And yes, it is solvable (well, as long as we don't have these three sword guyz), as can be seen here (it's from my first run when I didn't find the Red Warp): img577.imageshack.us/img577/3671/gruntz2012013101204934.pngEDIT: Okay, I am lost. I just can't replicate that trick with swimming in a black pool, even when doing things exactly like you did! How did you manage to make that work?

I submitted this to GooRoo some time ago but haven't heard anything, did you get it GooRoo? I just checked your folder on my hard drive, and there is nothing with this name. There is also no WWD to be found in my Gruntz/Custom folder. I can search old e-mailz, to see if there is something there (I doubt it ... I process e-mailz several timez a day, just to remove SPAM, and process the important stuff (Gruntz) immediately). We had a major snow storm followed by freezing sleet that caused my power to be out for 78 hourz, and it is possible that I missed it, if it came while I was unable to get on the Internet. Net result: send it again, and I will be watching for it!

I still would like to know how does it work that a grunt can swim in a black pool.
Also, nope, I tried multiple times to SOMEHOW avoid those sword gruntz, but it feels to me like an impossible task. IMNSHO, it's not a very good idea to start a Medium level with a Very Hard/Frustrating part, and the only one in the level at that...

Zu, you are aware that the switch can be used more than once, right? If you call this frustrating, wait until you see TropicalDanger. And changing the tile attributez can let you do pretty much anything. You can swim on the top of volcanoz or on death tilez, walk normally over water/death tilez (as seen in Gruntz in Space 1 and 4) or press rockz as if they were switchez. Obviously, some of these would be ridiculously confusing, but there is some puzzle usage here and there. Sometimez you want a certain tile to be treated as a construction pyramid so the solver is unable to walk diagonally by it, or you want a water border to be secretly a rock so the solver has to find that in order to reach a secret switch or whatnot.

There are several pointz of confusion in this CL: multiple Blue (once-only) Warpz, with it only obvious which BW a Sword Grunt must NOT use ... the onez with Spikez on the intersection islandz. I have only tested three BWz successfully ... but am not sure that they are the onez that really should be used by Gauntletz #1, Sword #2 and Sword #3. Losing my Gauntletz in order to create four Goo Puddlez, then pick up the GooberStraw to suck them up has me worried. I lost my only Grunt on my first try ... then realized the solution to the first puzzle. The multiple Toggling Bridgez are a pain in the backside, with the timing far from a Grunt's normal walking pace, and the hesitationz in placez. Having to negotiate them at least three timez is not my idea of fun. At least, I have created the "View the map!" and ThumbNail for the CL, and updated the announcement post as much as I could, for as far as I have gotten. (It helped that almost everything was left in plain sight.) I am wondering if some thingz are "red herringz" ... plainly visible, but (possibly) unreachable. I hope my single SAVE slot will be enough to see me through to the end.

Well, I have obviously successfully resolved my problemz, and brought the Warpstone Piece to the King, and obtained a " PERFECT!" Statz Page image. (I missed the very first Coin at first, because I concentrated on solving mini-puzzlez, and forgot to see if I could pick it up on my second attempt. Third time was the charm.) The hardest partz (for me) were the kamikaze run and the one being chased by a Rolling Snow Ball while activating Black One-Time Switchez. How are you folkz doing on this one?

Didn't have any problemz with it, good level with an interesting concept (spikez acting as permanent barrierz)

Hey Alex, I loved your game. It's the first one in a long time that I've been able to figure out and finish. I had no problems with the beginning (or pretty much anthing else for that matter). I did have trouble finding the secret for some reason. First time through I totally missed it! Second time, it was so obvious that I was surprised I didn't get it the first time. Anyway, loved it and I'm looking forward to more.

I can't seem to be able to get past the gray pyramids in the northeast corner. It seems like the bomber grunt can't run fast enough and always gets blown up at the last pyramid. What am I missing?
