We have an opportunity to change the Universal Resource Locator to this Forum. I am assured that all threadz and postz will move to the new name, and for two weekz any access attempt to the current URL will be redirected to the new name. Personally, I do not think there is a lot of value in a new name, except possibly shortening the name a bit. For example, we could become Gruntz.board.net.
Is anyone interested?

The shorter the better, because it's easier to remember.

While I don't think this is necessary, it'd be certainly easier for newcomerz to find the forum if it is named "gruntz.board.net", for instance, so I vote for that one.

There is a new wrinkle! I went to check if gruntz.boards.net was available (it is!), and found that there is a $10.00 (one-time) fee to make the change. I am not willing to spend that money, so if there is truly an interest in the name change, it should be supported by an opening of the pocketbook. (Many hands (or pocketbookz) make light work.)

Related question: the domain name "gooroosgruntz.info" is up for renewal August 31 st, 2012. This is the Forum's web host. The cost is $8.99 for another year. Should I renew it? Or has interest in Gruntz fallen off so much that it should be discontinued?

If discontinuing would mean closing the forum, then PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!! I think everybody agrees here that too much work, too much custom levels and too much time was spent on this forum to just let it all die and be deleted... Even though the forum does not seem to have almost any activity nowadays, it still would be very sad to have it gone.

I drop by here every day to see what is cooking. Deleting the forums? No way, I'd never regret forgive that. Just like everyone here though I'm not happy with little interest the forum's got recently. Changing the domain wouldn't change it much imho.

I just got my new, much better internet running... so I'll probably spend little time on single-player gamez such as Gruntz, but it'd still be very sad to see everything gone. Please keep it up. I think the smaller number of levelz being created recently is natural, since we've had 500+ released over all these yearz, and so many ideaz have already been used in them. Levelz that are made now don't have so much to work with, they need something new and refreshing but the number of optionz only tends to get smaller. Still, I'm sure we can keep it going and get new levelz out every once in a while. Deleting the forums? No way, I'd never regret that. Do you mean you'd never accept that? Judging by the rest of your post, you must've mistaken the wordz to use there.

All right, I will check to see if I may renew the domain via PayPal, and if so, will renew it today. So the Gruntz Forum will live until at least August 31, 2013.

Maybe we can give you a donate for this forum. But I don't know how. I never pay or donate something on internet so it is difficult for me to send you a donation ??

I hate the Google ads cluttering up the top of every page. A donation toward ad-free to ProBoards (link at the bottom of the main page) would always be appreciated.

So it turns out I'm a cold-blooded egoist who doesn't give a damn about the site. Could it get even worse? Thanks Gui for pointing that out, though I'll never forgive myself for such a mistake in these circumstances. I'm sorry GooRoo ...

You just used either "never" or "regret" instead of the word you really had in mind ... and it came out all wrong. It's a variant of "Spoonerism" ... mixing the letters of two consecutive wordz; in this case, using reverse synonymz for two consecutive wordz.
