There is a site called NexusMods. Originally meant for specific games only, it has recently expanded to allow for supporting mods and such for any and all PC games out there. A few days ago, I took the liberty of uploading my Virtual Reality tileset to the site ( link), in the process causing the site to make a dedicated category for everything Gruntz-related. You can see it here: www.nexusmods.com/gruntz/?Since this forum isn't going to last forever, I would recommend uploading the existing custom levels to the Nexus, so that they can still be accessed even if the forum goes down. The administrators are taking care of the funding business and the site already hosts thousand of mods and levels for various games, so there is no danger of it going down anytime soon.

I know the server is not gonna last forever, that's why I downloaded all of the Gruntz levels.
This is very interesting.
I'm glad you're doing your best to keep the game alive and I applaud you for that.

This seems like a safe idea. It will eventually have a "Levels" section once an admin approves it. All the usual level details can be included too, except maybe the icons for level stats. That's not a problem though.

Considering that uploading the already existing levels individually would take a ridiculous amount of time, I was instead considering a different idea: uploading them all as a single bundle, named Gruntz Community Custom Levelz Archive 1999-2014.
It would be both more convenient and easier to access. The levels could be put inside folders named after difficulty levels (Very Easy, Easy, Medium etc.) and after authors. The individual folders with levels could contain maps and walkthroughs, as well as summaries (how many toys, tools, gruntz etc.).
I could actually do it myself, once I receive a Gruntz Extras CD from GooRoo. I was also considering putting an offline version of GLEM there, as well.
Any new levels (made after 2014) could be uploaded separately, though.

If you made a page that does that organization, taht would be a different story.

From this Forum it is possible to access any Custom level from five different directions ... but only one copy of the CL exists on the web host. Want to see everything by Zu? Use the Designer index! Want to see everything in "High Rollerz" graphics set? There's an index for that. Only want to try your hand at 'Frustrating' puzzles? Use the 'Difficulty' index. You've already played everything up to 2013, and just want the 2014 CLs? By Release date! There was a great CL with something like 'Remember' in the title ... the alphabetical index will get you there! About the only indexing method that does not exist is by Toolz/Toyz/Powerupx/Coinz ... if someone only wanted to play CLs without a Shovel.

I am all for organization, but I don't like the idea of uploading the files multiple times in different folders. Who said that this was going to be done like this? What I thought about was an order like this: Difficulty (main folder) > "Year - Tileset - Author - Name" (subfolder)So this would be something like: Medium > 2007 - 2GS - Gaby - Be My ValentineThis should allow for reasonable segregation without the need of shuffling through many subfolders. Maybe there's some fancy way to accomplish better (offline) segregation with a program or something, but that's the best I can think of.
