So far, 2016 has only presented problems for me. Today I upgraded from Windoze 8 to 8.1, and my browser appearance has changed dramatically ... and not for the better! Right now, I have two copies of the ProBoards ads (American Red Cross, as I am typing) and below the second one is an XFinity ad overlaying the top inch or so of the typing window. I am hoping to receive an offer of a free upgrade to Windows 10 ... which has been reported to be hugely better (more user-friendly) than this piece of garbage Microsloth laughingly calls an operating system. Even the ProBoards Support Forum has changed, and the "mark as read" option has been removed, so there are ten pages of posts since the last time I visited to search for problem solutions. I am feeling like the perfect example of the Beach Boys song "I Just Wasn't Meant For These Times.
Edit: I removed some of the add-ons/extensions to Mozilla, and that seems to have taken care of the unwanted ads. How that managed to insert itself both above the Forum's logo and above the ProBoards ads I may never know, and did not manage to report it to ProBoards Support, due to other problems. Too tired to do anything about it now.

Well, most of my problems have now been resolved. I found a very usable HTML editor (free), and have updated the copyrights on "GooRoo's Gruntz - The Journey Home". So I can recomment SeaMOnkey (November 8, 2015 updated version). It took a little bit of getting used to, as it is a WYSIWYG editor, requiring an additional step to get into edit mode, but seems to be a full featured program, supporting relative links, etc. (It told me that on this new(er) computer I did not have some components that existed on the dead one ... and I was able to recover those I noticed form the web host.) So it seems that I have only lost upates from December 26, 2015 through RIP time for the old computer.
I acquired the current version of my Paint.net program, and it works very well on 8.1, and with the expanded screen on this computer, much of the type of work I did will be much easier ... fewer requirements to scroll left/right/up/down.
I feel more confident of saying
Happy New Year 2016!
