I'm not talking about voices or sound effects.I'm talking about the background musics.

Hi! This will need some effort, but I can do that. Let me explain... STEP 1. Extract XMIs from Gruntz.REZ Use Dragon UnPACKer for that (find it online). The Gruntz.REZ file is located in your game folder (usually C:/Games/Gruntz). Once you open Gruntz.REZ in Dragon UnPACKer you can see folders' structure. XMI files are located in folders called "MIDIZ" (e.g. AREA5/MIDIZ/AMBIENT1.XMI). STEP 2. Convert XMIs to MIDIs Here's a tool to do that: www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?title=XMI_to_MIDIAlternative link: web.archive.org/web/20150423145917/http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?title=XMI_to_MIDINote you'll need DOSBox to run it... It's been written in 1994. If you find better tool - good for you, but I think this'll do. Voila! Now you can play Gruntz music outside Gruntz. But if you're not satisfied... SOUNDFONTS. Make is sound like it was meant to be Playing MIDIs (standalone or in-game) requires soundfonts, and built-in Windows' soundfont might not satisfy you. Things might be even worse on other devices. You can use additional software to convert your MIDIs to other formats (like MP3) using desired soundfonts (for best playback on all devices), or install other MIDI device for Windows (find some free ones online - they will work in game too). Now, you can experiment with soundfonts (many are available for free online), but I'll recommend two. Option 1 - look up Arachno Soundfont, it's been made to make old games' MIDIs sound best. Option 2 - while Gruntz don't contain soundfonts, another 90s game by Monolith does - it's called Claw (and it still has active community by the way). So, download Claw, find the soundfont in game files, convert it, use it... Lots of hassle but I think that might be the original soundfont meant for Gruntz. AMBIENT. Mix other Gruntz sounds into your music Take High Rollerz' music for example (GRUNTZ.REZ/AREA5/MIDIZ/AMBIENT0.XMI). If it sounds a bit dull at times, it's because you hear slot machines all the time in game. If you have your music in MP3s or other format (converted using your desired soundfont), you can mix the sounds in using software like Audacity, and adjust everything's volume to your liking. The slot machines are in GRUNTZ.REZ/AREA5/SOUNDZ/AMBIENT/AMBIENT5LOOP.WAV. Just look around yourself if you need sounds for other areas Hope this helps
