I am a lazy, irritable, mentally handicapped Russian gamer. I find Gruntz to be a frustratingly hard game. Gruntz and Get Medieval were two games sharing the Lith2D engine (or 2D subset of Lithtech). I obtained my (admittedly illegal) copy on one Russian warez site. I wonder who holds the (C) for Gruntz, and wheither it could pop up on

It looks that you like challenges, otherwise you would never play Gruntz. But, hope you'll enjoy our collection of more than 500 downloadable Custom Levelz! Have fun!

It is our belief that the game is now what is called 'abandonware', but I am reluctant to sell copies of the game to anyone. I have made copies of the CD-ROM (at cost) for people who provided me with their damaged discs, returning the damaged disc along with the good working copy.

For a self-admitted mentally handicapped person also handicapped by being a Russian in a (largely) english-speaking (Internet) world, your post is remarkedly clear!
Good job!
As to the game appearing on GOG.com, your guess is a s good (probably better!) than mine.

@gooroo I obtained a no-movies copy. Gruntz proved both too hard and a weird mess to me. An extra challenge factor is that the unbaked core is exactly 1/4 of the required clay. Both Lith2D games are challenging, but GM is easier than Gruntz.
Once gamers were the average-to-smart group, now they're butt-wigglin' button-mashers, and those that try to resist or are overly nostalgic... are prepared for slavery with numerous "job simulators".
I know of 3 video games where you can play as golems: Enlight's Seven Kingdoms 2, Monolith's Gruntz, and that shoddy Mudcraft thingy. Of them, only the first 2 have multiplayer. Mudcraft's making of buildings by combining "mud people" may be inspired by 7K2.
P.S.: It seems like entire Monolith game community is a ♂fest

One thing that could possibly change your mind about Gruntz is to go into the index by difficulty, and start with "Very Easy" and work your way up to the level of difficulty you feel comfortable with. You could also take note of which designer suits you best, and use the index by designer and play through that person's submissions.
In the commercial game, difficulty increases by stages ... Stage 1 is easiest in each graphics area, and Stage 4 is the hardest. There is also an increasing level of difficulty by graphics area, with hazards added in "Trouble In The Tropicz", and tending to be more challenging as one moves toward "Gruntz In Space".
Use the indices, and download a puzzle and try it out. Depending on your result, download more at the same difficulty, or by the same designer. Most of the Custom Quests are rated at 'Medium' (Happy) difficulty, but even that can be an un-shared opinion of the rater. It is generally true that several levels by the same designer given a certain rating will remain true for most of that person's submissions.

@gooroo I quit on the level where, if you aren't careful, your Sucker becomes a Breaker and you can't make a 3rd grunt (in stock game, it's still in zone 1) The game is a fest to me! IDK why I even signed up for this weird forum.

Maybe you're looking for solutions? The universal solution to every level is time. Everything may be found out by thinking before a move, Gruntz is not a game of impossibility! Also, if original Questz levelz look too hard for you, begin from our Very Easy levelz, as GooRoo said. They are super easy. I'm sure that basic Gruntz mechanicz are so easy to learn. I just wish you good luck at playing this Ultimate Puzzle-Strategy-Action Game!

Powerful, that coconut grove level is mostly bouncers, which are rel. easy - but the conveyor was irksome. I think It needs a shovel in a hard-ish spot and a mound so the cringeworthy boulders (skinned as coconuts in that zone) could be disposed of.

I don't care really about Questz, because they must be easy at the beginning. Look for Custom Levez to download for some challenge. And it's nice to know that you understand Gruntz.

So you actually know why did you go here. We can always help you also with support and other Gruntzy thingz, like Gruntz Comicz. Stay with us, and go to solve every puzzle met by Gruntz! Great you play it. It's not that bad like you said, you're just interested in Gruntz, but it's not that frustrating game.

Win7 user. The one part that irked me in the V. Easy coconut grove level was the stone/coconut conveyor. Again, I'd suggest an edit to allow some way of gettin' rid of that buttnoxious stream of rollers to allow for easy passage. :@

Again, I'd suggest an edit to allow some way of gettin' rid of that buttnoxious stream of rollers to allow for easy passage. :@ My problem was not with the 'conveyor belt', but with the next set of rolling coconuts. The 'conveyor belt' is mainly a matter of having to repeatedly click on the mouse to follow the coconut in the space. In my re-write, my problem was to do everything before Black Pyramids were raised, and that was where my scrolling difficulties made the solution too difficult for my old fingers.
