I think we can objectively say that it's difficult for new members or visitors to find really important information on this forum. I saw a comment (long ago) on a different website asking for help saying that "the fan forum is a nightmare to navigate" and I also have a couple of reasons to believe that information regarding how to make Gruntz work on newer systems isn't highlighted enough. We definitely should have (long ago) added something like the "QUICK LINK TO THE INDICES" in board description of Olio, but linking to this thread, which most importantly lists tutorials on how to make the game to run on newer systems. What do you think about this? Something should finally be done in my opinion.
Now onto the second half the post. Another factor that might make it harder for people to find relevant information is the large number of sticky threads and FAQs that are either obsolete or of low priority. It might be discouraging for the visitors that they need to browse a sea of threads to find what they are looking for. To reduce the number of things being thrown at new members and to make sure the right information is in the right board, I suggest to investigate the following threads:
General - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Staff: removing 'reported post' notification (Move to Duties of Global Moderators and Administrators)
Why haven't I received my password yet? (Move to Old Threadz - obsolete)
Why can't I access the Beta Tester's board? (Move to Old Threadz - obsolete)
What happened to your "Info Center"? (What's that "Info Center"?)
General - Miscellaneous Topics:
ProBoards 'Terms Of Service' (TOS) (Link doesn't work, fix or delete)
General - ProBoards News, Credits, Suggestions and tailoring:
Pretty sure that most things put there are obsolete.
Gruntz: Miscellaneous Topics - What is Gruntz?:
MSS32.dll missing file download (Move to Old Threadz - the file is already linked in Zu's List of Utilities)
Ctrl-# method (Move to Olio - has nothing to do with this category)
Gruntz: Miscellaneous Topics - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Gruntz:
WinRezLTStudio (Move to Old Threadz - we have a newer REZ extractor in Zu's List of Utilities)
Gruntz Level Editor download Poll (Move to Old Threadz - irrelevant in modern times)
Gruntz DEMO download poll (Move to Old Threadz - irrelevant in modern times)
MSS32.DLL (and other file fixes?) (Move to Old Threadz - duplicated thread)
There are more situations of multiple threads between boards (or even in the same one) that are almost identical but usually they both have replies so I didn't include them.
