Actually, it was not me who did the edit this time. But these new icons really seem fitting for this place.

And I was speaking 'tongue in cheek' when I said only a Salvador Dali 'meltdown' version of the Gruntz Coin would be an improvement over the dull inactive one. After all, that IS a Gruntz Coin, and I know of noone capable of treating a Gruntz Coin image in a psychodelic manner.

ProBoards.com has a 1MB size limit for background images. Standard Rocky Roadz and Gruntziclez came in under the limit, but it appears that all of the six other graphics areas exceed that limit (I only tried areas 3 & 4). Perhaps the young geniuses in the group can manage to reduce the size (usually about 1.379MB) to be acceptable?
I am still searching for a way to spruce up the appearance of this forum. The REAL solution would be for GoDaddy to provide whatever is required to make ALL of our stored images acceptable to the new httpS standard.

I'm really skeptical that GoDaddy would provide a free SSL Certificate for your website. Unless you received some serious declarations from them, I would start looking into what BattlezM suggested. 10 cents per Gigabyte and first 50 Gigabytes free seems like a good deal for the amount of traffic this forum has. And the movement of many interface elements to Proboards' storage decreases it even further.

The least expensive solution, but every choice available to us requires a LOT of time and effort to "get things right".
EVERY image link must be replaced, whether we acquire an SSL certificate or not. With: add 's' to the 'http'; ProBoards: upload an image, capture the new URL and add into a database showing the original URL and later go through the entire forum locating broken images, do a view image info to determine what URL to replace it with and repeat the process about ten thousand or so times to resolve every broken image. (I doubt I would have the patience to complete this task, even if I live to my goal of 95 years of age.)

You don't need to replace anything. Images from external sites are automatically loaded using HTTPS, and since your current host doesn't support it, the images won't display. PLEASE resolve the issue on the hosting side before doing anything to the links.

A member of our Discord server gave me a link to a Certificate Authority that supplies SSL Certificates for free: letsencrypt.org They speak Greek (or Swahili, or Senegalese), certainly not plain English. Acronyms without explanations and jargon not in my vocabulary. I need more time than I was granting the reading of the site in order to understand it. And (in my tired state) I did not find any download link.
That will be my next To-Do this morning. Maybe it will be understandable. Edit: The link just took me to the home page of GoDaddy, not to a specific article about "Let's Encrypt".
Renewal every three months is do-able ... just a minor annoyance. I would set up a reminder for about a week in advance. I definitely prefer the "no additional effort" option!

All I get is the GoDaddy home page ... and nothing remotely concerning "Let's Encrypt".

So you'll have to navigate to the GoDaddy Help Center yourself and use the search box that says "What can we help with?".

It's fixed for me already. Great to be able to see the forum back in its full glory.

Today I see that our main menu buttons, background images, etc., are once again ... gone! Whether that is just a 'glitch', or Cloudflare's way of saying "pay me", I don't know.
But it certainly makes Forum navigation more challenging! The posting buttons are in place, so not everything has been affected. I will check in again tomorrow to see if anything (good) changes.

(...) our main menu buttons (...) are once again ... gone!
What I noticed is that if you hover over main menu somewhere, you may see the URL address of the destination at the bottom of the page (I think that all browsers come with this feature). You need to start at the left side of the menu and slowly move your mouse to the right until the URL seems good.
So even though it'll be hard to pick an option, you are actually able to target the desired one!
I hope this will help you until the images are back.
Edit: The moment I'm writing, I can see main menu buttons again (and also other images!). So I won't probably have to use that technique.

By coincidence the day I thought about checking if the website was still up with all its resources is the day the main menu didnt load properly and any of the links returned a bad http request To my relief the forum was still up so I figured either something went wrong recently or the website just didn't get used anymore
Glad to see it was the former though and it's back and working
