I'm amazed this forum is still going!
I had a question for you all.
I managed to find a copy on downloadoldgames and was trying to get a tcp/ip multiplayer game going with a mate over ZeroTier one. We can see each others game, but when we click join, the game just closes.
I believe the host needs to have his ports forwarded for that connection to work (at least that was the case with Hamachi). Gruntz uses Microsoft DirectPlay for multiplayer and according to this tutorial:
The TCP & UDP port range for DirectPlay is from 2300 to 2400 along with a single TCP port on number 47624
But usually when we organize multiplayer games on our Discord server, we use GameRanger instead. It takes care of setting up connection between players automatically.
Also make sure that your game actually works in single player before you try to play over the network. That may also cause problems.
