I tried to access one of my Questz today, but received the error ... page not found. So there is another "back burner" project to correct (strike through) such link everywhere I can find them. Hopefully, there are NO threads that ONLY have links to "Paul's Gruntz Page" for downloads/walk-throughs/etc. that will require replacing such links with their equivalents on this web host.

Nooo, that's very sad!! Isn't the page archived in Internet Archive?

But there is nothing useful there! Even the link to see his best battle is broken.

To be fair, with the Flash Player being discontinued the page was already barely usable, and we have all the important files backed up on GooRoo's hosting, so there was no reason anyone would have to use the site for downloads. I think it's a miracle it lasted so long without being maintained, anyway.

I think it's a miracle it lasted so long without being maintained, anyway. So what remains is to locate any references to Paul's Gruntz Page with links and do a strike-through with a reason for change of something like "Paul's Gruntz Page has been taken down".

Does anyone in here know Paul?
I certainly do! His "A World Of Sweetz" was probably the earliest Custom Level Quest with an extensive walk-through, and innovative things (at the time) such as CoveredPowerups within CoveredPowerups and a very nasty Silver Pyramidz puzzle. He was also the first to support the game of Gruntz when Monolith was in the process of shutting down its web site.
He was the inspiration for Bjarni to set up THIS discussion Forum, using Proboards software.
Know him (personally), no ... as a fellow Gruntz Fan ... definitely!

I meant "know" in the sense of "I can give him a phone call and ask if he just forgot to pay the domain fee or needs help with PHP or ...".

I meant "know" in the sense of "I can give him a phone call and ask if he just forgot to pay the domain fee or needs help with PHP or ...". Paul stated online that he was drawing back from many web things due to increased demands on his time. So I feel sure that this was not an oversight, but a plan of action.

But when it is possible to contact him -- maybe he doesn't mind somebody else setting up a mirror of the page, including the stuff not archived on Wayback Machine?

But when it is possible to contact him -- maybe he doesn't mind somebody else setting up a mirror of the page, including the stuff not archived on Wayback Machine? I have been going through the Custom Level Designers from 2000 through 2003 checking for anything that is now a broken link, and replacing them with links to our current web host (if they exist) and deleting broken links wherever I find them. I am currently working on Guenter's CLs, and have found broken links in just about every thread Announcement. I doubt I will take the time to go through posts within threads searching for broken links. CLs that old are not likely to see much activity that a new Gruntzer would be put off by broken links in those threads.

I might as well explain what I think of this news. It's horrible this happened, but honestly it was bound to, I know Paul himself moved on from Gruntz a lot time ago, he never even posted here as far as I'm aware.
It was nice of him to post my levels on his site, although they were terrible, I do remember talking to him a bit before he left.
Of course it costs money to keep a site on the Internet, and since he doesn't care about Gruntz anymore, of course his website would be down eventually, I'm actually surprised it took this long.
May his website rest in peace, it was a great site.
