What Gruntz say (lost thread)

This thread was lost sometime between Friday December 5^th and Tuesday December 9^th. Maybe someone had captured it, and could help in the reconstruction of the thread. It started out as "What SpongeGunz Gruntz Say"/

I was the one who basically started collecting the things gruntz say, and I just fount my .txt file containing all that I had, complete with forum commands. Possibly someone could pick up where I left off; I'm not all that interested in collecting them anymore.

Gaby, there are three types of sound categories in Gruntz--Sound Effectz, Voicez, and Music. You are hearing the Sound Effectz, but Voicez must be disabled or the volume turned down too low. To check this, start Gruntz and click (or arrow down to and press enter at) the "Optionz" category in the Main menu. A new window will open up. On the left side of the Window are boxes for the three types of sounds you can hear in Gruntz--Sound Effectz, Voicez, and Music. In each category, there is a check box and a slider. Check to see if there is a check mark in the checkbox for Voicez. If there is not a check mark in that box, click in the box with your mouse to place a checkmark. That will turn on the Voicez. If there already was, or is now, a check mark in the box, then look at the position of the volume slider tab just to the right of the checkbox. If the slider tab is all the way to the left, then the volume is too low. Click on the tab with your mouse, and holding the mouse button down, move the tab to the right until you reach your desired volume. Now you should be hearing voicez.

thank u... i can hear the music and the soundeffectz but not what gruntz say it's all markd and all the knobz are to the right...i walkd my gruntz but they don't say enything...

Hey, did anyone download drx's Gruntz Extractor? If you extract the Gruntz.VRZ file, you can get ALL the voice files for Gruntz! :-) Maybe someone will be willing to restart this (lost & found) thread.

I download drx's Gruntz Extractor... but... I cannot operate it because my folder and filez of the game are not in 'C'... I'll be more then thankful if someone can tell me how to do it... BTW in cheat mode I can hear the grunt say 'all right' (or something like that)

When you type in a cheat code, you hear, "Yeah!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!"

When you select a grunt, or tell him to do something, do you see a cartoon balloon with an exclamation point inside appear over his head?

Then I would have to say that there is a problem with either your sound card or your system itself. They're not defective, per se. They just either cannot process the voice filez correctly or not at all, or they cannot process all of the information that must be processed (sound, graphicz, logical, etc.) in order for the game to operate properly. I have a similar problem with the game Lemmings. While there are no voice filez in the game just .wav music files, for whatever reason, I cannot hear the music while playing the game. And Lemmings is a very old game--older than my system. My system should be able to handle the graphics, logicals, and the sounds. But I have not been able to hear the music for whatever reason. Go figure.

the game works... so do the sound effectz and the music... so one out of four is not bad...

As FriedGruntzaholic has tried to say, the Gruntz game options panel has three different selections regarding sound:

• Sound Effectz
  
• Voicez
  
• Music
  

Check to see that 'Voicez' has the 'on' box checkmarked. It may be as simple a fix as that.

as I wrote before... in the option box everything works OK... ... I just don't hear the gruntz voicez during the game...

I'm sorry to interrupt this round of "Let's Find The Sound Problem", but if I remember correctly, this thread is supposed to be "What Gruntz Say", not "How To Get Your Sound Card To Say Them". So, sorry Gaby, but I'M gonna post some funny sayings here, alright?

Since the original version of this thread was "What Sponge Gun Gruntz Say", I am posting Sponge Gun Gruntz sayings. And here they are:

When firing:
1. "Fore!"
2. "Step back!"
3. "Saycha(?) look at my little friend!"

When reloading between attacks:
1. "Pink, but deadly!"
2. "Feelin' lucky, punk?"
3. "Don't even say anything about the pink gun!"
4. "Gunz don't kill Gruntz; Ballz kill Gruntz!"

When standing idle (2 parts):

Part One: When a squeaktoy appears behind the Grunt's back and the Grunt tries to find it:
1. "Hello?... Anybody there??"
2. "What's that?... Hello??"
3. "Hey! Get back here!"
4. "What?!(clipped) Who's there?"
5. "Come on!... Where you at??"
6. "Squeaky? Is that you?"

Part Two: When the Grunt sucks up a ball from the gun and it pops in his head, causing him to spit it out:
Most are variations on this theme:
Sucking noises, sudden sound of surprise and displeasure, then a spitting noise.
One version actually sounds something like a burp or indigestion. ... LOL.

After walking the Grunt around for a long time:
1. "Walk softly and carry a big pink gun!"
2. "OK I don't mind carrying the pink gun. But if you see any of my friends, heh, you're gonna have to hide me in a bush or somethin'. This is not a manly gun, ya know what I'm sayin'?!!"
