Thanks to some assistance from FriedGruntzaholic, I got into the Secret Level (from Rocky Roadz, Stage 1). But now I have a problem on that level.
There must be a trick to getting the moving bridge to stay up long enough for the Grunt with the warpstone to walk over it to get to the fortress. I assume there is some way to get rid of the rocks that are rolling back and forth over the switches that control that bridge, but I haven't figured it out. Can anyone give me some tips on getting my grunt past that bridge? Thanks!

BUT...if you look closely, you will notice that both of the switchez are positioned off-center, meaning that the bridge tilez controlled by each switch may remain toggled down longer than they are up...or vice-versa. If you have a grunt (friend or enemy) step on each switch once (or any multiple of the odd numbers), you'll have a better chance of making it across the bridge with the warpstone.

I just want to know how do I get secret level. I also think many new gruntzer would also. All of the Secret Levelz are only accessible by cheating! The solver must be carrying an object that is not available in the Standard Level (use a cheat code to get it), and walk over a certain Tile, opening a Red Warp into the Secret Level. Once you cheat, you can no longer SAVE your game, which makez solving the SL a lot harder! To restore the ability to SAVE, you have to completely exit Gruntz, and then reload the game.

If it pleases you, GooRoo, I have something like a walkthrough down in a computer file. Would you like me to send it to you? Concerning the boulders, isn't there "press a key to blow stuff up" cheat code (mpletsblowstuffup and press F4 or something like that)? Couldn't HomsickTxn use that to blow up the boulders, then move two of her gruntz to the switches and have them control the bridge instead of the rocks? Could that possibly work???

Any walkthroughz would be appreciated. As far as the cheat code is concerned, I have only used a few of them, and do not know how "mpletsblowupstuff" works.

I sent this message once, but apparently it didn't go through, so forgive me if you get it twice. After typing in the code ("mpletsblowstuffup"), just center your cursor over something breakable and press F9.

Thanks, GooRoo! Just give me a day or two to format and check it, and then I'll send it along to you in a personal message. If oldone is reading this, I already knew how to do the cheat but I couldn't remember which F-key to press; next time, PLEASE cut me a little slack, alright?

Additionally, I answered my own question by trying the cheat myself. IT DIDN'T WORK! Somehow those rolling rocks resist being blown up. I then tried another angle. Since I had a copy of the Gruntz Level Editor laying around on my hard drive, I decided to load an extracted (courtesy drx's extractor program) version of the Secret Level, the point being to look for Secret Switches or Red Warps hidden in the level. I didn't find any, but someone with more experience with the program will have to confirm that. Unfortunately, it appears that only impeccable timing can get the Warpstone Piece to the fort.

That's all right, oldone, I understand. ... GooRoo, remember that walkthrough? Well, I'll have to post it here BECAUSE, when I tried to send you a personal message, it kept bouncing back, saying something like "gooroo (note the lowercase) does not exist as a valid address", and when I changed it to "GooRoo" it STILL bounced me back. Is something wrong here Well, in any case, here it is (though I hoped the whole forum wouldn't have had to see it... oh, well. ): GooRoo's note: The walkthrough is now linked via the original post in this thread, so it has been removed from this post. Well, that's all folks! Hope you liked it!

All you have to do to send me a personal message is click on "GooRoo" where it appears in a thread as Moderator or poster, and it will bring up a dialog for which one of the options is "Send Personal Message". After the Seattle Mariners baseball game is over (or no longer worth watching), I will process this walkthrough and delete it from your post ... so that noone has to read it who does not intend to do so.
Edit: added in the missing 's' in Mariners.

All right, thanks for clearing up that issue for me. It feels really good knowing I have contributed something to a game I like to play. (BTW, I thought the Seattle baseball team was named the Mariners. Is "Marines" a nickname?)

That was the case in my post ... which I will now correct.

Umm... is anyone going to offer improvments, corrections, <b>anything</b> here? I've been looking at the timing of the first stones and it seems to be something like (assuming you have left the blue switches alone) 3 seconds down and 1 second up. Since (I think) the Warpstone Grunt takes a second to move between tiles, you MUST move him on as the bridge is going up so that he will be moving off the second tile by the time the bridge goes down. From then on, of course, I do not really know what the timing is... would anybody like to contribute here, particularly someone who has actually beat the level?

The Warpstone Grunt (like the Springz Grunt) takez .800 secondz to cross one Tile, while all of the other Gruntz (except the Spy Gear Grunt) takez only .600 secondz to cross one Tile (Spy Gear makez it in .400 secondz ... or so ... I do not remember the exact figure ). There are very few Gruntzerz who are playing the Standard Levelz ... even the Rocky Roadz Secret Level. That is probably the reason why there have been no other replies to your post. That will (hopefully) all change whenever I am able to figure out how to link in the seven other Secret Levelz that have been created for "Gruntziclez" through "Gruntz In Space". My own research into the Standard Levelz has resulted in finding that there are more than 7 other Secret Level Triggerz! So there is room for more Custom Levelz (small size, do-able without SAVEing) for the current crop of Custom Level Designerz to test their abilities to design small challenging puzzlez!

There are very few Gruntzerz who are playing the Standard Levelz ... even the Rocky Roadz Secret Level. That is probably the reason why there have been no other replies to your post. (Heavy, frustrated sigh) I would have thought the Secret Level qualified as a non-standard level. Look, could I just get SOMEBODY to help, please?? Is this too hard to ask some Gruntzerz to do?!? What do I have to do to get attention around here, blast a blowhorn?? (I don't want to do that if I can help it.) I feel like the Grunt who's sinking in the water; do I have to do this all by myself??? ... OK, I'm done ranting now.

Actually it was he who posted the speeds on the old forums, with a subject like "Here's the speeds you've been searching for"; it is the source for the speedz thread in this forum.
