Goo Roo, have you tried "101" for the number yet? No, I have not tried to get a Secret Level linked in for about a year, now. My schedule is becoming more and more crowded, but I will try to get a new Secret Level linked in the next seven dayz. If I am not successful then, it may be a very long time before I can try again.

Maybe "501" would do for Gruntziclez, as 1 is level 1, and 01 is like a 'sub-level' of it. 501 would be the 'sub-level' (secret level) for level 5, meaning, Gruntziclez.

level 5 is High Rollerz... Gruntzicalez is level 2...

You misunderstood what I meant by 'level'. Level is a stage, not a world. The SL filez are named "LEVEL1.WWD", "LEVEL2.WWD" (...) "LEVEL5.WWD" etc.

IMPORTANT: There seems to be one secret level trigger for EACH LEVEL, not just for each world as we have thought so far. I have so far found one in all of the levelz 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 My guess is that the names of the secret levels is either LEVEL1[level].WWD, or LEVEL[world][level].WWD.

Well, yes, Blaziken showed that in his video (though we knew it). There's a SecretLevelTrigger in every level. I'm thinking of going in Rocky Roadz stage 2 and triggering the secret level (look in GLE to see the requirementz). If it sends us to the Secret Level (1), then I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the world as you said (ILoveGruntz).

In the GRUNTZ.REZ file, the naming of the Secret Level follows normal naming conventions just like any other Windows file: GRUNTZ.REZ\AREA1\WORLDZ\LEVEL101.WWD where AREA1 and WORLDZ are folders in the Gruntz.REZ file and, of course, LEVEL101.WWD is the map. The key is the number of the map. The first level of Rocky Roadz is named as LEVEL1 while the Secret Level linked to that level is named LEVEL101. Logically, the Secret Level for Stage 2 should be named LEVEL201.WWD, Stage 3 Secret Level should be LEVEL301.WWD, and so on. The linking in of the Secret levels should require nothing more than the creation of a REZ file with the desired Secret Levels in it which is then applied as a patch to the Gruntz folder, just like the ver. 1.01 patch. I believe this is true because if those of you who have WinREZ (either LT or PRO) would take a look at the file in your Gruntz folder that is labeled Gruntz.ZZZ, you will see that it is simply a REZ file with the corrected maps for those levels of Ver 1.0 that needed fixes. That's all the patch was, simply a REZ file. We should be able to do the same thing with the Secret Levels.

So what happens if you move over a secretlevelswitch that is not connected to a secret level.
Also, why is the sub-forum on secret levels passworded? The game is old now it really shouldn't matter anymore.

Grunt dissappearz into a wormhole probably (like right now). Currently the problem is getting said secret lvlz to load (I haven't heard of any progress on this..anyone? )

So what happens if you move over a secretlevelswitch that is not connected to a secret level. Also, why is the sub-forum on secret levels passworded? The game is old now it really shouldn't matter anymore. The Secret Levelz for Gruntziclez through "Gruntz In Space" have not been released, so access is restricted. The Gruntz game engine has some flaky naming convention for the Secret Levelz that haven't been figured out (yet) in order to distribute a new Gruntz.Rez file including the seven additional SLz. And it seemz that there is alwayz something more urgent requiring (my) time, so Gruntz111.Rez is still unreleased.

I decided to take this particular Secret Level and change it, so it doesn't require any cheatz and has a notably decreased difficulty of the part with bridgez. I did just for fun, as the original one is just plain frustrating for me. It is a pain to do tho, as you are not allowed any saves to complete it, and all of the timing puzzlez are quite hard to get right every time.

There is a basic problem with this (or any!) Secret Level: I love this game! Fail to do something? Add another Grunt past the problem, doing what the unfortunate Grunt was supposed to do. Need (or lost!) your Shovel ... have some fun in the barn ... ad nauseum. If you have to cheat, you are deceiving yourself into thinking you are a Gruntzer. So I am unhappy with the entire concept of "Secret Levelz" ... and the "back door" to solutionz ... cheating. If I were in a position to support the creation of a "Gruntz 2", it would have all cheatz removed in the distribution version ... if any were provided in the internal development version.

what happens when you complete the secret level, does it become playable from the menu. No. You still have to enter the appropriate cheat code (in this case, mplametoy) in order to access the secret level. The secret levels were supposed to be designed as additional fun levels. Sort of Monolith's version of an Easter egg. You can still get the secret level by extracting GRUNTZ.REZ with Dragon Unpacker, and play it as a normal "custom level" !
