My only hint on this level is that something amazing and secret may happen near those black spots.

This Custom Level, as I received it, should be classified with a difficulty of "Frustrating". There are two major areaz where the solver's Grunt is under attack from Rock-throwing Gruntz, with no 'safe' place to avoid getting hit. And a requirement to stand on a Purple Multi-Grunt Switch (PMGS) in one of them! There is a Red and Green Pyramidz puzzle which is almost the entire width of the map ... and only three 'safe' Tilez (Black One-Time Switchez). Finally, there is a Toy on an island with some of those Rock-throwerz ... blocking access to another Black One-Time Switch (BOTS) required to clear the path for the Warpstone Grunt. A mobile Toy! (Monster Wheel) Oh, by the way, the island is surrounded by lava, not water ... so the Grunt can even be sent out of control into the lava! So the solver's Spy Gear Grunt is the only choice to land on that island ... avoid getting bashed by flying Rockz, view the contentz of the ToyBox (making it safe), then pick up the ToyBox and step on the BOTS. Then all he has to do is cross the width of the island on a path shared by two Rolling Rockz to the PMGS and beyond ... to somehow persuade an enemy Post Guard Grunt to step on the Secret Switch for the solver. Maybe we need a new difficulty rating: Not for anyone over 15 yearz of age. I am now on to test SnowBlast and "BreakingTheBankV" ... in hopez at least one of them may be released soon.

Hmmm... I think it is Medium/Hard(I'm 15 yearz old ). When I beta-tested this "tropical terror", I thought the hardest part were the green/red pyramid maze, once I got to the ? switch area. You have to take control of your spy grunt constantly, as long as you have your gauntletz crossing the water brige. This is surely the frustrating part of the level; having a grunt cross a tight bridge and the other full of rock-throwerz. Using the Ctrl+# method really helpz in this mini-puzzle! But, if we consider the puzzle part of the level, it is more than the timing onez. (I know that if I was a little older, I wouldn't think this way ) BTW, PinkGoo, did you put any BehindCandiez (Coconutz, Bananaz, Fernz etc.) once you sent the level for me? I'd think you didn't because you also didn't put the EyeCandiez

Don't worry, gruntz fanz, I've fixed most(if not all) of the areas mentioned in GooRoo's post. I've also planned the additions of BehindCandiez and EyeCandiez, and I've fixed some graphical messups(including the pyramids-on-lava suggestion you made, SwordGrunt. It really helped). EDIT: Also, you're right, you have to almost always have your eyes on your Spy Grunt. Think of him as the "leader" of the group. You'll have to tell some of your friends to stay in one place throughout the level. In the end all of the pieces of the puzzle will come together.

I've fixed some graphical messups(including the pyramids-on-lava suggestion you made, SwordGrunt. It really helped). To make it more challenging, just trade some Black Switchez by Blue Switchez. In really, you can make all them Hold BS! It'll make the Lava bridgez a BIG challenge! (Test them to ensure no impossible bridgez )

Right now, I'm just about done making any more large changez to this level. And I get easily complicated with some thingz, such as when I originally made the warpstone grunt go to one pyramid, with another blocking the way. The solver would have to find the right switch to make the next pyramid lower, while the one behind the grunt goes up. However, everything got way too complicated and the switchez and...whew. Anyways, no more changez to this level. Also, GooRoo, I noticed that some of the switchez are on the x=0/y=0 tilez. Shouldn't they not function properly? I remember reading about a level that had this same problem.

Rolling Ballz do not harm a grunt at X=0/Y=0. Switchez only do not work if they're in X=0 and Y=0. BTW, can you send the revised version for me? I'm so impatient... I don't want to wait for the release.

... What is it we you guyz that when you're in the designerz position you make difficult and frustrating puzzlez, secretz (switchez, toolz, coinz rockz and moundz) that are too well hidden with no clue to it (most of the time), but when you're in the solverz position you want it all to be easy (or medium at the most) with no well hidden secretz (or a lot cluez to it)... ... it is OK to put a lot of empty hole with or without a magic shovelz (and not making a sign for that) when you're in the designerz position but when you're in the solverz position you dislike it and it displeases you... And what is it with the battlez - do you have to put so many well armed enemiez VS barehanded friendly gruntz that have to fight, solve puzzlez, walk on spikez, avoid UFOz (etc.) and survive with no cola (or just a small amout of it) till the end... And I even did not mention the very tight timing that you adore so much as a designerz but as a solver you want it slow ans easy... (etc.) The gruntz gamez are made to please every one (young, old and handicapped too)... So please dear designerz - unless you design a game for your own pleasure, think as a handicapped old solver before submitting it ...

I received a new version of "Contact!" Saturday, but was completing my testing of "BreakingTheBankV", so have not looked at the new version yet. It is past my bedtime now, so it will have to wait until after I get my beauty sleep (if you saw a picture of me, you'd know I need plenty of that! ).

Contact! is one e-mail (approval of Designer) away from release! I hope to have three Custom Levelz distributed to (most of) the Gruntz Fanz tonight!

So should it be just plain "Contact"...or the exciting "Contact!"?

When I was taking a look at the cool and new version(BehindCandiez in solid tilez? ), I saved the game as "Contact!" and not "Contact". What a coincidence!

Palm trees would cover up some of the switchez, geyserz, arrowz, etc.

Oh yeah. But I'm just wondering why the left/ground & right/water tilez (I have no idea how to name them) have the atributte clear. The player can avoid the entire water bridge by stepping them. And afterall, there's no purpose for them to be clear.

It's hard to explain...Well, I can't actually make levelz, I have to find a different level with the same tileset, save it as something else, delete all objects, adjust the size of the level, "fill all" the level, etc. And it just so happens that I "made" this level from "A Mystery in Groan", a level with all sorts of tile properties messed up. I'll send an edited version to GooRoo. Thanks for pointing this out, I never would have thought about this.

it just happens that in the custom folder of the GLE are planz and mapz of all the warldz that you may use to design your levelz ... that'll save you a lot of time...

Oh yeah(I'm getting tired of saying this ), Oldone's "A Mystery On Groan" is a crazy level. Better check to see if everything's ok in your 'normal' level.

Oldone's "A Mystery On Groan" is not a crazy level... it is not even hard ... "Crazy Level", I mean a little confusing, not bad(It is a great level). There are lotz of fake thingz and strange tile combinationz... creating a mystery!

ask Oldone to send you a copy of her walkthrough, it's written as a story and it'll make you understand all the "fake" objectz and the reason they are in the game... it will also understand how is how so you'll know what action to take and why,,, all Oldone's levelz are built as storiez and she is good at that...
