The timing to get the 'A' is very tight and so is the timing to trigger the warp to get the 'W'... is there a trick of some kind

I don't recall much of a problem with the "W", but the "A" was definitely tight! The only 'trick' is to SAVE before you try to get to the "A", and try (and try again) until you succeed.

It seems that I cannot please the king... I gave him the warpston and nothing happend And you probably won't be able to either--at least not unless you want to finagle with the level in the editor. There is a problem with custom levels in that certain "objects" cannot be placed too close to the edge of the map, particularly the northern and western edges (top and left for the directionally challenged) Level editors take note of this phenomenom. If they are, then sometimes they won't behave properly. The King's Fort is one of those objects and an example of this type of misbehavior in this level. Perhaps one of us "genius" level editors ought to "correct" this little problem, then resubmit the level

I thought that this CL had already been corrected, and that the link I have is to the corrected version! The King's Fortress was moved down one Tile row, so that the top of the 3X3 icon was at Y=1, instead of Y=0. I know that the CL I have in my Custom folder has been corrected. Perhaps the corrected version was not uploaded, or Gaby's version is the original from Paul's Gruntz Page instead of the version from my web host.
I will check into the file downloadable from my link here to determine which version it is. I will ensure that the corrected version is available from this thread.
Edit: The only version linked here was the original from Paul's Gruntz Page (93KB self-extracting ZIPped file), so I added a download link for the corrected version from my web host at 7.03KB (plain .wwd file). The walkthrough should be unchanged, working for the corrected version just fine.

Paul's Gruntz Page existed long before this Forum was created. Many of the linkz you find here are actually downloading directly from Paul's Gruntz Page ... and this was one of them! I have added a download link for the corrected version in the base post in this thread, so you can get a version where the solver can bring the Warpstone to the King. The warp letter "A" timing is also a bit 'relaxed' in this version. Edit: P.S. I e-mail Paul new Custom Levelz as they are released for distribution. He is now working in 'the real world' and has much less time to do things on his web site than in the past. So there is a backlog of about 15 Custom Levelz and at least half a dozen walkthroughz that he hast not added to his download menuz. All of the Standard Levelz walkthroughz you may link to from this Forum are actually stored on his web site. These two sites are in full cooperation with one another, so that our goal is that anyone can get any Custom Levelz (Battlez or Questz) from whichever site they choose. At the moment, this Forum has a few more CLz on-line than Paul's ... but that could easily change. (One day he may design another Gruntz CL, ala "A World of Sweetz" ... and it would be available there before it is available here, I'm sure. )

The announcement for this thread is broken. When I attempted to fix the broken links, the new version of ProBoards bolloxed the table ... and I have no idea how to fix it. I have several threads going in ProBoards Support to try to resolve the problems. For now, I am at a dead-end in fixing the broken links due to thread re-numbering. My level of frustration will have me off-line for a few hours. Edit: ( GooRoo) I removed the offending [tbody]...[/tbody][/table] strings and restored the appearance of the announcement table. ProBoards version 5 table editing routines remove the equivalent of carriage return/line feed everywhere, totally obfuscating the table, ala poorly written JavaScript, C, C++, etc. Just because the language processor doesn't need white space to generate the proper result doesn't mean that the poor human being charged with maintaining the scripting does not require the white space for readability. After being a commercial computer programmer/analyst for over 38 years, I am very aware that 80% of the time a computer program exists is spent in maintaining the program due to changes in requirements, etc. So I am less than pleased with these changes. The Forum, right now, looks like s**t!

I recreated the Walk-through ala IdleAl that had not been captured before Paul's Gruntz Page vanished.
