I went with my shovel to the spike field, but should have sent gauntletz through the timer maze first? And I let boomerang go through his area with the golf balls...and then let him kill all of the enemy boomerangz and spongegunz....was that a mistake? it's not a mistake ... now... send boomerang down through tha time maze to kill the gunhatz and the spongegunz then send shovelz down through tha time maze to dig and fill holez ... now send them up through the maze to join gauntletz... there are two PMGS ... one is at the beggining area... the second will be revealed soon...

I am still missing something.... The secret to the "W" and the coin in the spike field where boomerang first goez........ The secret to the area in the lower right hand corner....where the yellow spongegunz are.... What is the madness above the King's Fort??? How am I supposed to cross that??? I sent shovelz down through the spike area....it's not too bad if you fill a couple of holez while the thundercloud goez the other way, walk up out of the way while it passes and then follow it down to fill a few more holez...the trick is NOT to step on the checkpoint. It will raise the pyramid blocking the entrance to the timer maze. But it's a lot for only one coin. Still, I want the PERFECT! as you well know by now....

Well, I am replaying....again... So this time I want to do it right.... After I get through the awful beginning.... 1. Boomerang doez his thing in the spike field...goez through the RW, killz the gunhatz, and getz back, then goez to the goo puddle and getz the "W" and the coin....then 2. Boomerang and shovelz go down the timer maze. Boomerang killz the gunhatz and the spongegunz that he can reach. Shovelz digz holez and findz the coin and the secret ? switch. 3. They go UP the timer maze. They meet gauntletz there. All three go to the checkpoint. (Where is the secret to the lower right hand corner in this area? I have walked all over the place and can't find it....did I miss something?) 4. Shovelz digz holez, gauntletz breakz mushroomz....boomerang getz the toobz.... 5. Shovelz goez through the left BW, then headz down to the spike field and getz the coin, then goez back and stepz on the YHS releasing the ball....gauntletz goez through the right BW and then into the last BW, breakz the giant mushroom, and the smaller one....goez to break the other mushroomz, uses the spongegun on the enemy which raisez the tile bridge...gauntletz now getz the springz and goez all the way to the end... NOW, if I step on the last BTS, the bridge goez down and the last tile comez up, but springz can't get to it from the switch....so I can't get to the purple pyramid ...... A little here, please?

there is another RW in the spikez area... before goin to the silver time maze - boomerang killz the enemy gruntz at the red&green pyramidz maze... shovelz and gruntletz join and do their taskz - now you can send shovelz and boomerang down the silver time maze and do their did then up the maze and gauntletz joinz them... kill the enemy gruntz make the RR roll over the blue switch... go to the checkpoint and to the small pool area break and dig what (wave your toolz to find secret holez or breakable objectz)... toobz stepz on the blue switch then on the purple switch...gauntletz enterz the right BW then to the one in the red&green pyramidz maze area... he is teleported to the 'GooRoo' sand pit area... shovelz goes through the left BW to the begginning area... goez down to the spikez area and back...donot release the RR before checking that all the tilez are raised and gauntletz revealed the spongegun and springz... release the RR and step on the purple switch... I hope I answerd all you qustionz... good luck... [img src=https://gooroosgruntz.info/emoticons/wave.gif[]

I think you answered everything Gaby...except how to get to the three mushroomz in the lower right hand corner....
I knew about the two RW'z for boomerang to get...one on the right pointing arrow in the spike field, the second one in the goo puddle next to the spike tile...is there another one I missed?
HOW do I trigger the ball to go over the BTS in the lower right hand corner....if I send someone down to step on the YTS, the ball goez DOWN, not up....is there another switch that controls the upper TWA ? I noticed that there are still a few tilez that are down if you don't step on that switch...
WHEN all the tilez are up....I release the RR and then head to the end? I guess the RR goez over the BTS at the end...but then how doez springz jump to that last tile? I think I will have to try it again to see how it goez....so close..........

Ok, I got as far as the miserable bridge above the King's Fort.... There is no secret to the lower right hand corner...you can walk through there and back. So I sent gauntletz to kill the spongegunz on the ground, and boomerang to kill the one on the platform. It is easier to do stuff when you don't have to dodge spongeballz all the time.... The switch to the RR is on the east side...watch out for the thundercloud! Then I sent shovelz down to get the coin in the spike field and to release the RR in his area... The toggle bridge is just a matter of timing...I had to walk around a bit from safe tile to safe tile, but I got the coin and it's another PERFECT!!! Rock VIII here I come!

I spent about four hourz re-playing this CL today, as part of the walkthrough-writing process. Wow! I had forgotten how devious some of the sub-puzzlez are! The most devious was what one has to go through in order to get the Warp letter "P" and one Coin. I also was trapped by the zealous use of EyeCandy near the end. (Look for some golf teez on the ground, with Arrowz pointing toward them. You'll never see what needz to be done without those Arrowz drawing your attention to the EyeCandy.) It is just about dinner-time, and I need another re-play while keying the walkthrough. It may not be available until some time tomorrow.

I just completed the CL with a "Perfect!" score, and have uploaded the Statz page to the web host, and linked to it in the original post in this thread. All (!?!) I have to do now is complete the writing of the walkthrough.

I have now linked in the ALPHA version of the walkthrough for this CL in the original post in this thread. I have also linked in two JPGz showing the solution(s) to the final Water maze. (Now let's see how many mistakez I made in the walkthrough. )

While embarking on a change to the Designer index list, adding in Collaborator entries, I just about went down a "rabbit hole" with this one! Very old index, very old Announcement, and a very old HTML4 walk-through. I am tempted, but will put further work on the walk-through on the very backest of back burners.
In the process of updating the Designer index entries, I am discovering that many of them have been obfuscated by some unknown program ... removing all of the carriage return/line feeds and generating insanely long strings (at least 1,024 characters long) ... which hides the various items I want to change. Which makes the updating process much longer than it really should be. But I am learning more about HTML in the process, especially concerning hierarchy of element values. Also, in deference to my aged eyes, I am making everything BOLD, which reduces my squinting tremendously.
