I (of course) have the (English language) Gruntz CD-ROM, patched to version 1.01, with the 1024X768 screen resolution registration patch as well. I had no problem at all with loading and playing this CL. I played it through 3 timez (yes, I managed a " PERFECT!" ... but cannot do anything with a screen print to prove it ) in a little less than thirteen and a half minutez. There is a lot of this map that is unreachable, covered with treez, so I give it a 'loose' density rating. There'z an easy way to catch that statz page. Save your game in the 10 slot and turn the warpstone in. If you miss it, you can simply reload and try again .

Thanks Gaby. Now I find that the rules of the origuinal Gruntz seem to have changed!!! Death dies before having the chance of killing more than one enemy gruntz? I do not like this, I am a simple Gruntz player and every day the levels get more and more difficult, it takes out the enjoyment of the game for me. Nobody has time to write a walkthrough to help slow players like me. All I see is people that have done the new levels in record time and very few that have problems, it is very depressing for the likes of me. Please Gooroo, take me out of the mailing list, I will visit the site and take the levels when I feel well enough for it. Thanks for all your help

don't be so depressed, it's only a matter of team work... give each one of your gruntz a powerup and send them both to the eastern enemy... while the one with the Invulnerability is fighting you do the Touch Of Death ...do the same on the other enemiez... try it it's fun...

The level that GooRoo sent worked just fine. I got the PERFECT! Good level, Alex. I liked the use of the toyboxes. I missed the secret switch the first time, but went back and looked around and found it later. See, not all of us are Ace players mcmiguel1944 I'm sure all of us have experienced frustration with these levelz at one time or another (even GooRoo)!! Don't give up on them, just play what you can and check back at the forum. There is always help available when you need it.

I have done that hundredz of timez ... I have a knack for catching the screen image while the " PERFECT!" is blinked off ... but since I had to delete Internet Explorer 7 BETA 3, it took "Paint", "FreeCell", "Spider Solitaire" and "Hearts" with it! So I no longer have a functioning paint program to manipulate the screen grabs that I get. When I get enough free time (nothing scheduled or pressing to do) I will attempt to re-install Internet Explorer 6 (which worked!) and hopefully get all of the other programz back at the same time. I have hated MicroSoft ever since they lured the programmerz away who had been writing software for the Amiga computer. MS programmerz have absolutely no idea of how to write efficient code. A program I wrote for the Amiga ran very nicely as a 22KB program. Porting it to the PC (using Visual C++), the exact same program was over 3MB(!) ... and it didn't even run properly. Bill Gates at the time when MS-DOS was the 'in' thing said that he couldn't see anyone ever needing more than 640KB of RAM in a computer. Today, I doubt that there are as many as one hundred non-trivial programz that will run on a PC using less than 640KB of RAM!!! Unfortunately, there are hundreds of millions of Intel-based computers with MicroSoft software bundled into them. There were only tens of thousands of Motorala-based Amiga computers. So the programmerz went where the numberz were (and presumably the dollar$ as well), leaving the only true multi-tasking computer operating system in the lurch. (In 1986, on a 512KB RAM Amiga, I had 40 different graphicz programz running simultaneously, while copying flopping diskz with two other programz (I had 4 floppy drivez) with very little noticeable slowdown of the graphicz programz!) So having those other programz 'bundled' with Internet Explorer really makez me !

Make sure the grunt with invulnerability is attacked first, then your Death Touch grunt can kill off with no damage. There are no reachable enemies onward from this, so it doesn't matter if you do lose a bit of health. (There are spikez though! )

I have plenty of problemz with most of the CLz ... but I seldom post, because I tend to write "War and Peace" whenever I post. But once I determine the solution to each mini-puzzle, I am (much) faster at passing through the area in future 'tries'. I only have 1 SAVE area available for each CL I am testing, so frequently have to re-start from the beginning when what I thought was the proper plan of attack turnz out to be wrong ... and it frequently does prove to be the wrong way. Today's Designerz are devious!!! I cannot say I am overjoyed to do so, but I will remove your name from the Gruntz Fanz list. I look forward to the time when you say that you want to be put back on the list!

What is thhe GR? By the way, I remember that in one of the post Gooroo or somebody else posted a list of the Gruntz abreviations and would like to read it again to be up to date on this.
Thanks

The trick to an improved game timer time on this one is to use the 'special' grunt as soon as he has a new place to go ... and use the other gruntz when he is busy "playing around". Another timing trick is to only send one grunt (any of the three will do) across the Bridgez after the Bare-handed , Springz and Shovel CheckPoint Switchez are satisfied. Since Springz has to go across the first Bridge, you may as well use him all the way, and leave the other two standing. Doing that, you can surely improve upon my 15:15 game timer time shown in the Statz Page image.
