Here's a challenge for Gruntzer who have winrezlt, play the secret level and complete it without cheat codes. It can be done. I have winrezlt (but it won't work on my machine; OS is too old! ), but I don't need it to complete the secret level without using cheat codez. All that is necessary is to change the timing of the toggling bridge sections, and that can be done without using cheat codez. Simply step on two switchez at the proper time, once and once only and viola`! "Slightly" easier crossing of the bridge. And, of course, you have to know how to get rid of the enemy swordz that block the path to the bridge and will slice you to ribbons.

FriedGruntzaholic, I think it is time we created a thread for the Rocky Roadz Secret Level. I have never played it, myself, and what you just posted seems to make you the resident 'expert' on the puzzle. If you created the base thread, and Gman copied his post in this thread to the new Secret Level thread, you could copy your reply after Gman's, and this thread could be closed.
I would recommend a screenshot of the Secret Level be made linkable, for those who haven't seen what the map looks like. E-mail said screen shot to me, and I will upload it to my host, and link it in.

I'll do that. I'm going to replay the level again to refresh my memory on exactly how to do the secret level without using cheat codes. It's been awhile. While I'm at it, I am making a walkthrough for it, too. When I'm done, I'll post the base thread in the Rocky Roadz area of the Standard Levels forum. Ummm...that is, unless you want it started elsewhere.

It definitely belongz in the "Rocky Roadz" Category, as a fifth thread! When (if?) I manage to figure out the naming convention to invoke the additional seven Secret Levelz, those will be added as fifth threadz to their respective Categoriez, as well.

An Error Has Occurred! You are not allowed to access this board This is the message I get every time I want to enter to the secret levels. Why is that... how can I get an authorization to this board ...

Why is that... how can I get an authorization to this board ... Only myself and FriedGruntzaholic have access to that Board right now. When (if?) I manage to determine the naming convention for the Secret Levelz that belong to "Gruntziclez" through "Gruntz In Space" in order to add them to the .rez file, there will be threads for discussion of the various Secret Levelz ... but no download linkz. (Fried... and I were linkz to Kevin at Monolith for the Secret Levelz project ... but Kevin left MPI before he had a chance to create the V1.12 'patch'.)

If you want to try that level, go to the Rocky Roadz section of the Standard Levels board. There is a thread there that will tell you how to find the secret level.

Because they have not been released .. yet! I have not determined the naming convention to invoke the Secret Level from any of the Standard Levelz with SecretLevelTriggerz. When I succeed in getting the 2nd Secret Level linked, linking the other six will quickly follow, and I will release Gruntz Version 1.12. Then the 7 additional Secret Levelz will be moved into their respective graphicz setz as a 5th thread.

It probably won't happen until my frustration level with it ... and other thingz going on in my life goez 'way down. It is rather time-consuming to re-name a Secret Level, re-compile it into the .rez file, load the Gruntz game and start playing the level up to the point of the SecretLevelTrigger, only to have nothing happen. The nature of the beast is that I have to go back to square one, and start all over again, with all programs closed down (especially Gruntz!).

:-/Umm... If by naming convention you mean the logicz, just edit the pre-made secret level entrance by using that GruntExtractor Thing. Although, the link provided doesn't work. Or couldn't you just ask that Kevin guy that seems to have worked on Gruntz?

[glow=red,2,800]Forget that other post, I figured it out![/glow] Sort of...Using WinRez editor, I found out the following: Logic | SecretLevelTrigger | Image Set | GAME_WAPWORLDONLY_GUARDPOINT | Animation | (n/a) | Other: | | Damage | 32 |
Hope this helps in your endless quest to find the "naming convention"!

Tragicly, no. The SecretLevelTriggers I've added to regular questz levelz with WinRez only send a Grunt of into who-knows-where when he goes in w/ a Yo-yo. Plus, it takes SOOOO long that I gave up on it as well as GooRoo had. I am trying it with different Smartz valuez in cusom levelz now.

I seem to have caught up on BETA testing and converting walkthroughz to HTML, so will likely increase my frustration level (once again!) by trying to put together a working Version 1.12 with one additional "Secret Level". I am convinced that once I manage to add one new "Secret Level" to the .rez file, I will then be able to readily add the other six ... and release the 'patch'.
(But what I really want to be doing is completing "The Rock VI" within the next two and a half weekz!

How do you add the secret level(2) to .REZ file?

I use the program "Winrezlt" to extract from and add to the .rez file.
