Thinking that I might just have some sort of 'cookie' problem, I just tried to go to the main Monolith web site, and was 'rewarded' with the same error message. I am a bit suspicious that this occurred (to me, at least) right at the end of 2004, and that I have not been able to access them since. It makes me wonder if they have closed the web site completely (if not the entire company!).

Nope, company and forum site are still up and running. I was just all over the MPI site: Gruntz Forum, Gruntz Home page, other pages on the Gruntz site, the lith.com home page., etc. There's even a post dated 1/1/05 3:08 pm in the Gruntz forum. Dunno what could be the problem. Could be a couple of things. Security settings, i.e. too high? If you have more than one internet browser, have you checked whether the page can be accessed with one or the other, i.e. IE v. Firefox? And it's possible, very possible, that you, my friend, have been banned--or least, the subnet that you're on has been banned, anyhow. Remember how our very own Bea had somehow been banned from the MPI Gruntz forum, and how we had shake some trees, rattle some cages, and yank some chains to get her back on? Just some random thoughts to throw out there. Here's something else you might try. Go to one of the search engine sites (Google is a good choice) and search for Gruntz or Monolith. First link that comes up that links to either the Gruntz main page, forum, or the Monolith page, click that link and see if you can get there from there. Again, just a random thought that might lead to a solution.

Well, the Google access method was one of the first things I tried, to see if I could get to any part of the Monolith web site. No luck. Every Google link led to the same "page not found". I will try Mozilla Firefox, to see if that makes any difference. My security settings are fairly low, trusting to Norton to provide most of the protection, rather than Microsoft. Possibly, the problem is related to my new DSL access ... generating a new IP address that is (in fact!) banned. I could flip over to the other telephone line, to see if that makes any difference.

Using Mozilla FireFox 1.0, I get a "Connection refused" message. It appears that my IP address may well be banned from the Monolith site. I will next re-try accessing just the www.lith.com site, to see what happens there. Edit: Also refused using the link in this post. Someone out there just doesn't like me, I guess.

Since most of you have said that you are able to access the Monolith Gruntz Forum, there must be an IP ban which prevents me from getting to the web site. Are there any posts on the Gruntz Forum that would shed some light as to why I may be excluded?

GooRoo, I don't think you are the specific target of any ban by Monolith; I think you just happened to be caught up in Monolith's attempt to ban someone else who has been causing trouble. Your IP address is probably contained in a block or range of IP addresses that has lately been banned. Hence, that means that you or anyone else having an IP address in that block cannot access any of Monolith's servers. This may be especially true if your IP address has changed for any reason. Or, Monolith may have blocked any incoming requests that includes an ISP that MPI considers to be troublesome anywhere within the relay. Gaby, this may also apply to you, since you also seem to have a lot of problems accessing the Monolith Gruntz forum at times. Unfortunately, I don't have any solutions to this problem, short of either contacting Monolith for help or changing ISP's (something I don't foresee you, GooRoo, doing anytime in the near future. )

I unplugged my DSL modem because of a problem I was having with someone trying to access my computer with a Trojan, and when I plugged it back in ... voila! ... I could access the Monolith Gruntz Forum again!
I will keep this in mind for any future reoccurence of this problem (and otherz should make note of this 'solution' as well), for a remedy to being unable to access MPI Gruntz.

Once again, I have been returned "unable to display this page" messages for the last couple of days when checking for new messages in the Monolith Gruntz Forum. Am I (once again) alone in having this difficulty?
