I posted, in Additionz to the GLE, that unique imagez (such as an egg) could be used in all graphicz setz. I was correct, but couldn't explain correctly. I just found it. Open the Gruntz.Rez (with WinRez LT) and open, for example, AREA1\IMAGEZ. Click on a subfolder(or hold Ctrl and select more) and press Ctrl + C. Now open \IMAGEZ of a different area. Press Ctrl + V, and save the current file GRUNTZ.REZ. Now, to ensure it was done correctly, open a level of the world you've put the new image in. Create an object with the new image. Load the level in the game, surprise! What do you see? How to use this new 'feature', you ask. The giant eyecandiez on miniature masterz are a good example. Or the DANGER sign. They could be used in other worldz. Any Designer may use this in his/her levelz. Please vote in the poll! BTW, I'm going to make a level using this. It'll be in Area 3, and will have some Giant Volcano eyecandiez.

Great! I think it would be great to try and mix eyecandy, at least onez that look natural. There hasn't been much of a way to change logic aspectz of CLz. I'm going to try this myself, I once got an image in the editor, but never in the game. I would greatly advise anyone to back up their Rez file before attempting to permanently tamper with it. Edit-Ugh. My WinRez does not seem to work. Could someone verify this? SwordGrunt, could you send me some screenshotz?

The only bad news is that anyone who wantz to play the CL with the new imagez needz to modify the REZ file. Well, it's better than downloading a 70 MB file.

I don't mind downloading a 70MB file, it only takes 10 minutes.

I don't mind downloading a 70MB file, it only takes 10 minutes. If I get the answer I am hoping for from GoDaddy.com, everyone will soon be able to spend ten minutez (or several timez that amount of time, if dial-up ) in downloading the Gruntz.rez file ... hopefully containing working SecretLevelTriggerz for seven additional Secret Levelz! WinRezLT extracted all 14 of the opening screenz for me, in a format of "PCX" ... and my default picture viewer (ULead ... and ULead's PhotoImpact) displayed them with no problem at all ... and I could do a "Save as.." converting them into JPGz. I had hoped that the same result would (happily) come from extracting a PID file ... the file extension in WinRezLT and GruntzEdit/Gruntz for the graphicz set Tilez ... and allow me to work with those imagez; no such luck ... that file type is just not understood. Oh well, that was just a "blue sky" project anyway ... and there are more "real world" projectz on my docket right now than I can handle as rapidly as I want to handle them. I wonder how I ever got anything of a personal nature accomplished when I was working 40+ hourz a week for my living?!?

These screenshotz will show how it's cool to use unique eyecandiez on various worldz: [/b][/li][/ul] P.S. For anyone who's going to try the trick, I also greatly recommend to backup the original GRUNTZ.REZ file. Make the changez in it and do a "Save as...", saving in other name. Rename the original to " BACKUPGRUNTZ.REZ" and then you can finally rename the modified version, to " GRUNTZ.REZ", so the game and the GLE will load the changed one. When you want to play a 'normal' CL, change the namez(backup file changez to GRUNTZ.REZ and vice-versa).

IMNSHO, those EyeCandy objectz, exactly as used in your samplez, are legitimate usez of EyeCandy objectz from another graphicz set. In fact, why the 5X5 imagez were not placed within the graphicz setz that they so obviously belong in, is totally beyond me! The Danger Sign (IMNSHO) should be in every graphicz set!
In fact, should I manage to make the seven additional Secret Levelz available via a new Gruntz.Rez file, adding the (appropriate) 5X5 imagez into the seven graphicz setz where they belong and the Danger Sign into every graphicz set would be a part of the distribution. I also hope to find a way to manipulate PID filez (Gruntz Tilez, for instance) and have those changez also a part of the new Gruntz.Rez. Who knowz, maybe it might even be possible to create a ninth (tenth ... 'nth) graphicz set, using the talentz of Gruntzerz with an eye for color and organization, so that Gruntz could evolve into an approximation of "Gruntz 2" ... and have a "Gruntz In The City" (or some such) graphicz set additionally to choose from in creating new puzzlez.

Exactly the reason why you have to rename the .REZ filez when wanting to play a CL with such changez... WinRez seemz to 'cut' the folder when we tell it to copy. So, when it appearz on a different AREA#\IMAGEZ\ folder, it disappearz from the original. And the worst of all is that WinRez is the only current .REZ editor! Or is there another one? In fact, should I manage to make the seven additional Secret Levelz available via a new Gruntz.Rez file, adding the (appropriate) 5X5 imagez into the seven graphicz setz where they belong and the Danger Sign into every graphicz set would be a part of the distribution. IMO, the title could be "City Center" or something like that. But the one you mentioned is good too. I think I could help in verifying the graphicz. I look for odd partz everywhere in a level, and I can see at least one odd combination of the tilez(that are supposed to look correct) in each graphicz set. We could just throw all of the imagez of eycandiez into all of the level setz. Is it possible with your WinRez?

We could just throw all of the imagez of eycandiez into all of the level setz. Is it possible with your WinRez? My WinRez does not work , I will try to redownload it... It would be simple to just ctrl+C and ctrl+V all the graphicz imagez and copy each one into each folder. Of course, if the time it takez to copy a file is 10-15 minutez, that meanz the entire process would take a whopping 14 hourz! Alternatively, you could open a word file and copy and paste each of the 8 image filez there, then you delte all the original onez and copy the entire bulk of 8 image filez into each set, which would only take about 2 hourz. But I'm not sure if that could work.

I'll send you the WinRez LT Studio installer right now. Check your inbox. I think I found a faster way of doing it. You have to extract the contentz of the .REZ file, and copy/paste the eyecandiez in Windows Explorer. Then you put the folderz into the .REZ file.

It workz!! What more is that the folderz I copied from imagez were copied really fast, in about a mere minute! My computer must be faster than I thought!

I'll copy only the candiez/unique imagez. Don't you agree, not copying those " CRUMBLEWATERBRIDGE" or " TOGGLEDEATHBRIDGE"? There would be no point to use such in other graphicz setz. I want the new 'feature' to be used to improve the graphicz; not to make crazy levelz.

I've got a new idea. Perhaps we could move the eyecandiez to " GAME_EYECANDIEZ_LEVEL#_(example)" so it wouldn't be necessary to paste into every graphicz set? What do you(everyone) think about it? Edit: I think there could also be a " GAME_HAZARDZ_(example)", so Hazardz (such as UFO, RainCloud, or ObjectDropper; no StaticHazardz ) could be used in all graphicz set.

It all could be a good idea if only there was an alternate way then to mess up with the REZ filez...

thank you , I will, but shouldn't every one do the same in order to see what you have created?... ... we all have to "talk" the same "language" in the CLz designerz and solverz...

If the solverz want to "talk our language" too, they would need to extract the .REZ file, do a lot of changez, and then group everything again inside the GRUNTZ.REZ, as we (at least I) are doing. I'm really tired of this project... so I think I'll try to finish ToyLandVI yet today and/or try some CLz, then go to bed(It's 11:39 PM in Brazil right now).

I think like anything else, one has to use it to make the level look good graphically. I think it opens up more possibilities for graphics though. Some level sets don't have a lot of EyeCandy.

I think like anything else, one has to use it to make the level look good graphically. I think it opens up more possibilities for graphics though. Some level sets don't have a lot of EyeCandy. We should begin (sparingly) using the "Flags" Dialog Box and the 'mirror' checkbox item, as is demonstrated in the Standard Rocky Roadz Level "The Giant Rock". The lily padz are sometimez mirrored, for example, which is subtle, but does a lot for the graphicz effect. In the "High On Sweetz" graphicz set, the Gingerbread Man, LollyPopz and other EyeCandy Objectz can occasionally(!) be mirrored to good effect. The 'Danger' sign in Miniature Masterz is NOT a candidate for mirroring, nor any other EyeCandy with printing ... but there are still plenty of EyeCandy objectz that may be mirrored (and a few that can even be inverted(!) such as dead fliez, bugz and the like) as the salt and pepper shakerz, etc.
