After you beat a CL and it says 'Go to next level' or 'quit', what if there was a way of linking your own levels together? (So that when you press the 'Go to next level button' it takes you to one) This would be great as it would be like making a sequel to gruntz.

(So that when you press the 'Go to next level button' it takes you to one) This would be great as it would be like making a sequel to gruntz. Knowing how to do that would be of particular value in the 'series' CLz, such as MGS-..., The Rock #, ...Groan..., etc. Undoubtedly, it would require some 'tweakz' to each CL, just to do the linking, and then it would also make a lot more sense to have a single Warp letter in each individual CL ... more 'tweaking'. Anyone with the time and incentive to try to determine how to 'link' one CL to another is welcome to put in the effort, and write up the resultz ... if the method is discovered. Then Oldone could link the Groan CLz together, and Gaby could link the MGS- CLz together. If no one else stepz forward, I would take on the series of "The Rock..." CLz ... after the method has been proven and made public here.

Likely the way to link Clz will require some hacking. If a method of linking Clz is discovered, then there will probably be a way to figure out how to "lock" fort positionz. Or visa-versa.

I doubt that any 'hacking' would be required ... just some esoteric logic that we have not noticed that makez "Standard Levelz" work differently from "Custom Levelz". For one thing, Stage 2 usez Warpstone 2, Stage 3 Warpstone 3, etc. The link may be a script within the REZ file. I would imagine that discovering how to link one CL to another would also show us how to link Secret Levelz to the Standard Levelz via the SecretLevelTrigger. I thought that it was a naming convention, but it may just be a script that no one has discovered ... yet.

It'd be great. If anyone finds out how to do it, I'd work on Space Station Gamma & Delta (I think Battlez finished Gamma, it's just too late now for me too test it, 1 AM )

Could you send me a couple of standard levelz? I'm going to try to compare them to CLz to see if there is any difference. If there is a way to link levelz, it will likely be in "World Properties"It'd be great. I have all of the "Standard Levelz" on the web host, and have them linked in for download in the "Rocky Roadz" and "Gruntziclez" graphicz areaz. I will work on linking in the other six graphicz areaz tomorrow. (Tonight I have some serious reading to do.)

If there is a way to link levelz, it will likely be in "World Properties"I'm well sure that it's the name. Look, why don't the "The Giant Rock" or "Holy Shovelz!" Rocky Roadz SLz have their filez named this way? It's designed to jump from one another! Maybe if someone swap the names of "LEVEL2.WWD" and "LEVEL3.WWD" inside the Gruntz.Rez, then maybe the game would load the "Gruntz, start your Enginez!" after "The Giant Rock". But I don't think linking CLz will work, unless we try the above method. Name a CL "LEVEL5.WWD" and other "LEVEL6.WWD", then try it (make sure it's Gruntziclez). Maybe, if you set the level in World Properties to be "Gruntz - Level 5" and the other to be 6, it would have more chances. It'd be great. If anyone finds out how to do it, I'd work on Space Station Gamma & Delta (I think Battlez finished Gamma, it's just too late now for me too test it, 1 AM ) I did finish Gamma. Have you even seen it yet? I believe, in GLE. But I don't remember playing it. If I still have time today, I'm sure I'll try it and progress in Zone2 as well. I've got Sunday and part of Monday to do it, so that won't be a problem.

It just might be that the "next level" linking only exists in those puzzlez found in the "Standard Level" (Questz) part of the Gruntz.rez file. Since our Custom Levelz are not included in the Gruntz.rez file, they cannot have a linking option. This is my speculation, not any certain knowledge of how thingz work in Gruntz.

"Trouble In The Tropicz" Standard Level mapz may now be downloaded! I am now returning to finish up "High On Sweetz" through "Gruntz In Space". If I have completed the linking for a Stage, it will have something like Designerz: the map. The example will allow you to download Stage 1 of "High On Sweetz".

All 32 of the Standard Levelz now have linkz in the original post in each thread! Now I am going to start doing some screen grabz to replace the onez lost with Monolith Productions, Inc. closing down their web site. I will be making grabs of Stage 1 of each group, and will upload them to the web host, and then modify the 8 ProBoards headers to display them in each Standard Board.

All 32 of the Standard Levelz now have linkz in the original post in each thread! VERY IMPORTANT!If you download these maps and then try to open them up in the editor, you MUST go to World ->Properties and change the location of the .REZ file and the location of the APP Launcher. Otherwise, you will get an error message.

It turnz out that I already did screen grabz of every one of the 'Standard Levelz', and they have already been uploaded to the web host, so all I need to do is insert or modify linkz to the imagez. The screen grab mini-project is (de facto) complete, and no one need take the time to do screen grabz.

Well, how about this? We choose existing 32 Custom Levelz, replace Standard Levelz in the .REZ file with them, then distribute the new Gruntz(2).Rez! Of course, take the "Very Easy" for Rocky Roadz, and progress. "Very Hard" should be the max difficulty for all CLz that became SLz, in my opinion.

The main problem I see with that is the size of the Gruntz.REZ file. I believe I could upload Gruntz2.REZ (Gruntz3.REZ, Gruntz4.REZ,Gruntz5.REZ, etc.) to the web host, and the REZ file could be downloaded from there. Pity the Gruntzerz who still have 56KB dial-up Internet access, though. They would be spending hourz downloading the REZ file. But if we could create one new set of 32 "Standard" Levelz from the Custom Levelz that have already been distributed, but now have them linked one to another, with a single Warp letter in each Level ... that would prove that we can effectively create Gruntz 2 (3, 4, 5 ...). Then if we could only find out how to replace Tilez, we could (in effect) have Gruntz 3 ... with Tilez created by Gruntzerz, and new themez ... such as cityscapez and other typez of background Tilez. Hmmmm?!? There are at least 355 Custom Levelz to choose from, and we would only need 4 from each graphicz set. "High Rollerz" has the fewest Custom Levelz, but even that one has seven or eight timez as many CLz as we would need for a test "Gruntz 2". The 32 Standard Levelz have Stage 1 as the easiest, and Stage 4 as the most difficult in each graphicz set, and "Gruntziclez" is more difficult than "Rocky Roadz" ... with "Gruntz In Space" being the most difficult grpahicz set of 4 puzzlez. Each candidate "Gruntz 2" puzzle would have to be altered to have just one Warp letter, and the number of Coinz and difficulty slightly increasing from Stage to Stage. Just "for yuckz" why don't we start a thread where we encourage suggestionz from Gruntzerz for their opinionz about "High Rollerz" Stage 1 through Stage 4 ... not a poll, but a discussion about what CL should be a "Stage 1", et cetera, and after a suitable number of suggestionz have been made, then conduct a poll for each of the four Stagez with CLz listed drawn from those suggested by Gruntzerz. I would like to see what kind of response there is for a single graphicz set (the least popular one, it seemz) before trying to establish 32 all at once. If there is little response, then there must be little interest in creating a new set of 32 linked puzzlez. Does this make sense?
