I am trying to remove the buggy Internet Explorer 7 BETA 3 version from my computer, in order to download Internet Explorer 6 (which worked!) and bring it up-to-date. My computer refuses to remove the buggy program! Can anyone give me a 'cook book' method of removing IE so that I may go back to what worked for me? (I get an error message that says something about IE being in use by some other program.) And (of course!) when I attempt to install IE6, I receive an error message saying that a newer (worthless!!!) version is present! Never again will I ever install anything BETA from MicroSoft!

Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs (Classic View or Category View). Find Windows Internet Explorer Beta 3 from the list (it's near the bottom). Click Remove. It will then revert to IE6. (But remember to patch IE6 afterwards! ) If that doesn't work, reboot the computer, press F8, select Safe Mode, then do the same as above.

Part of my problem is that Internet Explorer is NOT listed at all when I try to do a "Remove PProgram". I think MicroSoft programmed in a block to prevent it from ever being deleted.

My copy of IE7b3 shows up. Try this: when you are in Add or Remove Programs, click on Add/Remove Windows Components (it's in the sidebar). Uncheck Internet Explorer from here and click Next.

You should have better "luck" if you tried it while in "Safe Mode"

Today MicroSoft's automatic update program did for me what I was unable to do for myself ... removed the old version of IE completely, and gave me the new release of Internet Explorer 7 ... which I am using as I make this post. Next I am going to see if I now have 'Paint' ... again. I have been using PhotoImpact to save my screen grabs of the Statz pagez of those CLz that I have played/ttested recently ... but it is practically useless for re-sizing or extracting piecez of imagez.

Competition is the cure in this case. Just use Firefox until Microsoft gets their act together.

Good suggestion! I did that many months (about 12 ), and have had no problems since. Extensions called IE View and IE Tab help me through the IE tasks.

I never trust in Microsoft productz. One time I was about to install Windows Vista, it completed installation. However on the install it required a CD key and when I login, it requirez another! And it didn't started on Linux nor XP, and I had to reinstall my computer at all! I HATE W. VISTA ( Does anyone have it?)! But look I've installed Vista Transformation Pack because graphicz and soundz are cool!

I've got my own computer problemz. My computer usez windowz XP, but don't think XP is the problem. My Itunez refusez to interact with my Ipod (I can't install updatez for Itunez either). One of the absolute weirdest problemz with my computer now is that it has a tendency to turn off (or on) if I accidently tap it too hard. Basicly I'm going to need a completely new computer.

Check your electrical connections! Particularly around the power supply. Both sides, coming out as well as going in. Check the power supply connection at the motherboard and at the switch. It sounds very much like you have a loose connection somewhere--either that or your power supply is going bad, which may explain a lot of other problems, too. And a new power supply, if necessary, is cheap and fairly easy (usually) to replace.

I have a seemingly secure connection, I have checked it my self, the power cable is quite secure. My dad sayz that it'z the entire computer that is the problem (so perhapz it is the motherboard : . I have a feeling the problem could be related to a couple of small wirez that were never reattached to my computer, but they haven't showed any problemz.

When I get Vista, I will test Gruntz on it. Don't get Vista until the results come out from me.

Well, many programz don't support Vista yet. Gruntz sayz that supportz windows 95/98/2000, but it runz in XP. I'm not sure, but maybe it'll work on the new Operating System. And yes, I won't install Vista. XP satisfy me, and much.
