Hi there! Mandew's here, talking about some CL building projectz. Those who Played the CL "KingOfTheHill" surely knowz about that Secret SubPuzzle whit the boxing Glovez and Shieldz? Well, I was currently designing a new CL whit Boxing Glovez Grunt as main grunt, whit some "Pushing Gruntz Around" SubPuzzlez, and some Fight VS other Boxing Glovez in a (kind of) ring, plus a Battle Royal Fight. A real "BoxingGala"! Halloween'z coming, and now that I'm a little too old to knock at doorz , I decided to design a CL named "HalloweenOnSweetz"... I don't have any further Detailz on it yet ... I know the CLz I built wasn't, let'z say, very good... so I decided to go create one whit a little more challenge (I hope, at least)... One of your Gruntz start WHIT the warpstone and you have to get him ALL the way to the fort... On a (pretty) long road of rocky and gooy challengez... That CL will be named "AreWeThereYet" (or maybe another name, if I find one ) Now I found a new concept of Battlez... Puzzle Race Style! I'll try to get a tryout of that thing out of the Standar level "The Giant Rock"...

That Boxing Glovez subpuzzle of KingOfTheHill is reminicent of "FitzNik". The difference is that in FitzNik the solver's hero pushez sliding blocks around in order to create bridgez across water, block enemiez from certain placez, and activate switchez, etc., while in Gruntz we are 'enticing' enemy Gruntz to stand in placez beneficial to us. The 'puzzling' aspect is the same: approaching the Rock (Grunt) from the correct direction (and in the proper order) to leave the Rock (Grunt) where the Designer intendz it to remain.
A rather popular tactic in many current CLz is the "split SecretTeleporterTrigger" method, where the solver's Grunt triggerz the Red Warp ... under an enemy Grunt(!) that whiskz him off onto a Switch that cannot (without cheating) be reached in any other way. Gamer first demonstrated this in "Bombz Away!", where he (in effect) had an enemy Grunt and the solver's Grunt exchange placez.
Gamer also introduced the use of Toyz to stop a SuicideBomber Grunt's "mad dash" ... in a beneficial place. Reece had a variation on that, by having the Grunt make his "mad dash" on a diagonal through objectz that an ordinary Grunt would not be able to pass.
I am about 20% complete with the logicz of a CL that will end with a melee of enemy Gruntz ... if I can manage to get the timing right. (I just wanted to see which Grunt would be the last not returned to the Goo from which they were baked.)

Well, there is a LOT of variant of FitzNik. The first one I can name is Boxxle, on GB... Then there are other variantz loadable on CellPhonez, too.
Um, well... There is some puzzle of Fitznik (or Boxxle or wathever) that can be taken to a CL whit some added difficulty (Hehehe...). like you mentionned the Rock Grunt, this can be one of those... And don't forget that a grunt whitout a shield is hurt by boxing golvez... that too, addz some difficulty!
Edit: errr, sorry... Boxxle Isn't very much variant of FitzNik, because in boxxle there are only Boxez, Pointz (where the boxez must be at the end) and a carachter.

I've made a puzzle that pitz a lone boxing glove grunt against 4 springz ! An idea for battlez levelz is a timed battle level, where you now have to race against the clock to defeat all the other playerz (there would be respawning stopwatchez in addition to powerupz).

That's a good idea, but the player would not have time to think about strategies. Also, the timerz should respawn quickly, or many of them should be placed everywhere. For where the timerz should be placed, they may be placed near every forth, and some next to powerupz or at a very hard place to get.

I have attempted to make a timed battle, but dumped the attempt as timerz have a tendency to ruin any puzzle, quest or battle.
