Honestly I give up. After all these decades of making levels, I never made a good one. The only thing close to that is Edwin's Kitchen, but it still has the exact same problems as the levels I made when I was literally a kid.
When I made the level clubs'n'rock'n'roll I was hoping I could make a great one for once. But nope, as it turned out the beta version was my worst level so far. Many people told me that.
So there is no point in trying, making Gruntz levels is meant to be fun, and it's no fun if I can't make one that many people enjoy playing and is great objectively.
So you know what? I'm throwing in the towel. I am not retiring making Gruntz levels, but next time I make one it will be intentionally bad, there is no point in putting effort if it won't pay in the end, which it didn't that's the main reason I canceled the level casino madness. I don't even care if the levels go through beta testing or not, if there won't be an official thread I will just host the new levels on my Google Drive, which will have a doc linked on my YouTube channel so anyone can easily find them.

I agree that there's no point in designing levels if it does not give the designer satisfaction. Trying out a different mindset should be for the better.
On another note, I think it's worthy of praise that you are still trying to design something new, when so many designers have stopped designing at all.

There's no need to loathe yourself over this. Making custom levels isn't a competition. There are a lot of levels that can be considered mediocre by some but that doesn't stop people from making them, because it's fun. I played 3D Lava which was my first custom level I've ever played years ago and I enjoyed it. I eventually beat all your custom levels before switching to anyone else's. They might not be as challenging or pretty as the other levels you are comparing yourself with, but that doesn't mean that they are objectively bad. And if you still think that your levels can never be great, what's stopping you from that? You haven't made a lot of levels in recent years and I don't think that Club Rock 'N' Roll is a bad level (played it but haven't recorded it yet). It's a direct improvement over all the levels you have made and you will only get better if you make more levels and experiment with other things.

The thing is level making used to be my passion, but it's not anymore now it's video making. I wanted to get back to making Gruntz levels not for fun but because I wanted to make something good, and that backfired.
Look I appreciate your optimism but my point stands. If any of these levels were good, it was completely by accident as I was a stupid kid who put no thought into anything, now I do, and I'm far more critical of myself than I was back then, that's why my latest level not being of the best quality bothers me.
