On February 3, 1959 the music world was notified of the death of three Pop Music performers:
- Buddy Holly: Charles Hardin Holley (lead singer of The Crickets) 21 years old
- Ritchie Valens: Ricardo Valenzuela (Donna/La Bamba) 17 years old
- The Big Bopper: Jiles Perry Richardson (Chantilly Lace) 28 years old
Buddy chartered the plane, J.P. had a cold and replaced one singer, Ritchie also replaced another singer. The plane crashed, and all three and the pilot died.

I made a reaearch on this a while ago. Buddy Holly's wife Maria Elena Holly apparently had a miscarriage shortly after hearing his death. Such a sad day. RIP

The original posting in this thread now will play representative songs ... and the early radio broadcast about it.
