A repeat of the August 12-14, 2005 outage, it seemz. Unable to connect. There has been relatively little posting there, so I likely will not check again until some time tomorrow.

Well, they're back again!
(I use MPI as a quick way to open another window for accessing another web site ... and always check for new postz whenever I do. So when I (out of habit) clicked on the GRUNTZ banner to open a new window ... it came up!)

It has been at least 36 hourz since the last time I was able to access Monolith Productions, Inc.' Gruntz Forum. I have not made any attempt to reach the MPI Home Page, though (I did not create a link for it ), so do not know the status of their web site. Am I alone in not being able to access it, or is it truly 'down' for everyone? Edit: As you can probably tell, I 'Googled' "Monolith Productions" and now have the URL for their Home Page ... it is down!

you are not alone ... I've got the same problem ... the whole Monolith web site is down, not just the Gruntz forum...

The Gruntz Forum is back! Apparently they were just having server problems.

No access to the Gruntz forum (or any Monolith site, for that matter) today as of 2:15 pm EST. I suspect that they are cleaning and sterilizing some of their forums after some joker with a potty-'puter and the maturity of a male junior high student left a mess in at least 2 forums (Blood and Gruntz) over the weekend.

I saw it, but was unable to do anything about it. I am so glad for this Forum, and (at least) five people who watch over it. There are some who are not 'on staff' that really care about the Forum, and have let me know post-haste when something untoward has been posted here, so I could do something about it. That kind of attitude is one that I would like to 'reward' with Global Moderator status. You know who you are ... would you like to take on that responsibility?

"Page not found" for about three dayz, now. Has anyone logged on to the Monolith Forum recently? When was the last time someone logged on successfully? The last time I was able to successfully log onto the MP Gruntz forum was the day before yesterday. I could not log on yesterday nor today. The whole site appears to be down, not just the Gruntz forum (typing in the lith.com address gives the same result as just trying to go the Gruntz forum). They're probably just doing server maintenance.

The Monolith Productions, Inc. Gruntz Forum is for all practical purposes ... dead. It was so fully taken over by SPAMmers that the storage for messages has overflowed ... perhaps a good thing. At least, now, the person posting that c##p is prevented from adding more to the site. The overflow problem makes it impossible to read any messages ... if there were any truly of value to Gruntzerz that had been posted in the last year or two. It is too bad that MPI did not follow up on their announced plan to turn over the web site to FriedGruntzaholic (an alternative we suggested when they announced they were going to just drop the site). At least, then, there would be someone actively moderating the Forum, preventing the incursions such as have been perpetrated upon the poor thing. I just re-added the main page link to MPI and to Paul's Gruntz Page ... but think I should just drop MPI out entirely.

I had to go back to April, 2004 in order to find any postz on the Monolith Gruntz Forum that actually pertained to Gruntz, and were not pure SPAM. The last worthwhile post was in the group 3401-3450. I really think it is proper to remove the Monolith Gruntz Forum from any link list. What a sad situation, that the web site has been so neglected, and (as a result) so abused.

Yeah, I saw that as well. What a shame. I remember a year ago I asked something there and they replied instantly. And now...

That's the problem in the Internet. A spammer tries to do his 'job' somewhere. If it suceeds, all others will quickly abuse and destroy the website. If at least Monolith cared about Gruntz... and cared about their image over the Internet...
