All day long (so far) when I have tried to check new messages at the Monolith Productions, Inc. Gruntz Forum, I have received and error message of "unable to find server". " The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer" Gruntzerz, will some of you please try to access MPI's Forum, particularly those of you in Australia, Europe, and Africa in (very) different time zomes? I hope that this is just some sort of hardware failure, and not MPI summarily closing down their Forums. yay! (See FriedGruntzaholic's post below) It's back up!

GooRoo, I would give it a few days before panicking. I was able to access the MPI forum this afternoon about 1:30 pm EDT, although I can't now. And in talking with my wife and son, who surf more extensively than I, they say that they have experienced a few problems with some of the sites they visit. So it may be possible that one of the arms of the Internet is having problems. And I think that we have been experiencing some problems at work today as well. Editor's Note: It seems that the whole of Monolith's web site is down, not just the Gruntz forum. I have tried going to www.lith.com, one of Monolith's web addresses, and I get the same message.

It is still down, as-of a few minutes ago. I really hope it is just hardware problems!

Not looking good, not at all. It is still down, as-of a few minutes ago. Yes, it is still down, but again the whole Monolith web site is down, not just the Gruntz forum. I don't think that a company as large and as successful as Monolith would just simply pack it in and call it a day. Even if they had decided to shut down the Gruntz forum, the rest of the site would remain up and open for business. And they have in the past experienced hardware or software problems that have kept them down for a period a time. A major crash or a virus attack can do that. And if that is the case, their first priority is to restore the internal information systems so that they can get back to their core business, then work outward from there. They can manage without the external informational website for a few days, but the internal information systems is essential.

Try clearing your Internet Temporary files, and set your "cookies" security to medium. Those links work perfectly for me ... and I use them (especially the MPI link) several times a day!

A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please contact the administrator And some time: Page not found
It's not that I'm not pleased with this forum - on the contrary, but I'd like to visit... :-[

There are ways to find out where the problem lies, but it requires some degree of technical proficiency and knowledge. Keep trying. Someday you may be able to get there.

It is strange that you are having a problem accessing both the Monolith Gruntz Forum, and Paul's Gruntz Page, because they are widely separated from one another. MPI is located in the state of Washington, USA ... Paul's Gruntz Page is located in the Netherlands. The servers for this Forum are located on the east coast of the USA ... you are in Israel ... yet have no problem reaching this Forum. I cannot imagine why your ISP would not be able to link to Paul's, at least.
Your problem may be similar to one that has plagued ProBoards for almost a year; one single PB server (associated with proboards27.com) is locked out for northern European nations. The other 36 work just fine for Euro users. Go figure.

And that is happening to you when you click on the mini-banners at the top of this Forum? I have both of them set up to go directly to the Gruntz partz of those web sitez, not to the Home Pagez. This is the link to the Monolith Productions, Inc. Gruntz Forum: www.gruntz.com/forum/and this is the link to Paul's Gruntz Page: www.gruntz.tmfweb.nl/How do those links compare to what you are using?

Even with DSL, I gave up after 5 minutez in trying to access the Monolith Gruntz Forum this morning. The problem with accessing it reminded me that the domain name is (once again) coming up for renewal ... February, I believe.
I think I will need to contact Monolith and see if it is possible to take over the web site "as-is" as part of assuming the domain name. It would be a lot easier to link interested Gruntzerz here if I had access to the controls of the existing web site. I am definitely not capable of producing anything remotely similar to the MPI Gruntz Forum with my (non-existent) knowledge of HTML! I am afraid that the Gruntz Forum is too tightly bound to the rest of Monolith's web site for anyone to be able to gain access to the Gruntz portion, however. Time will tell ... it may be easier than I expect it to be, to assume the domain (and web site).
