Gruntzerz, if you have any thoughtz at all about submitting your own Custom Level puzzlez, I would appreciate it if you would carefully decide upon your 'handle' before making any submissionz. It is very time-consuming to go through each Custom Level thread, changing Designer namez. Such a change needz to be made on my hard drive in two placez (the Gruntz folder, and the temporary CD-ROM image where I build the Gruntz extraz CD-ROM) and on the web host. Those three changez are relatively quick ... merely changing a folder name. But each existing thread for Custom Levelz already submitted also needz to be changed ... at least two linkz in each thread, and the Designer line as well. Then there is the Index by Designer that must be changed. If the name change is from AAA to ZZZ, that really throwz the index layout out of whack, and many threadz have to be re-ordered. It is not much of a problem if the change is from AAA to AAB ... thankfully. I just spent about an hour making one Designer name change, and do not relish the thought of doing anything like that again. So please, select a Designer name that you can "live with", and use that as your Display name as well. P.S. The shorter the Display/ Designer name, the better.

I'll always be SwordGrunt. I once changed my name, from Guigui to SwordGrunt, although I had only 1 CL thread, and it wasn't even released. BTW, I think ( not sure) that there's something that might work to change the name automatically, although I still discourage frequent name changez. GooRoo, do you want me to PM you with it?

If you are talking about the word list, yes, that would work for the Forum linkz. But there would still be the problem of renaming thingz on my hard drive, and on the web host. There used to be a problem with the word list being cleared whenever ProBoards was loading slowly, and the solution the software had built-in was to clear the word list (the thought being that reading the list and making all of the translationz was the cause of the slow loading), so I seldom even consider using that 'feature' for everyday purposez. However, the software also now automatically translatez (in reverse) stringz that are entered, such as " " to "*ThumbsUp*" (replace the *z with #z in a quote of this post to see what I mean). The actual image was entered (by me) as the full URL to the image to be displayed ... even the UBBC tags for displaying imagez are part of the translation! I could add a word list entry for " G_u_i_g_u_i" to " SwordGrunt" so everyone could see the result (as in this paragraph), but (until I changed the web host name, and also my hard drive entriez) noone could download any Statz Page imagez (or Walkthrough textz) for your Custom Levelz. Obviously, the Custom Levelz themselvez would still display the Author information supplied when the CL was submitted ... so (your) Custom Levelz would show the original 'handle' when created. Unless the solver knew (from long experience) that "G_u_i_g_u_i" is now known as "SwordGrunt", they would not know who to thank (or send "hate letterz" to) for the Custom Level they play. For a test, I have made an entry to the word list, and anyone can see the result in BreakingTheBankV, where there is not only a Statz Page image, but also supporting imagez showing the solutionz to two mini-puzzlez in the Custom Level. All three imagez exist on the web host, but they come back as "file not found" because of the translation. I would have to do the renaming of the folderz in order for this method to work ... not much of an improvement over making all of the changez manually. If anyone wantz to view SwordGrunt's imagez, you may request that a staff member remove the entry from the word list.

I'll always be Teo. It's short, and besides, I don't think I'll be releasing more CLz, but we'll see.
