The Smartz value is very important to a Battlez CL.
Objects that need Smartz values
GruntCreationPointz ExitTriggerz (Fortz) FortressFlagz WayPointz GuardPointz
Smartz tell the computer who is on what team, you are always given a random smart when playing thus you cannot choose which fort you get. the valid smartz values are 0,1,2,3.
note: smartz also affect enemy gruntz in Questz levelz, GooRoo care to add?
Gamer: The maximum number of gruntz per team is 15, whether it be one of your teams of one of the computers'. So, if you are planning to make a large level (like Bombz Away!) you will want to make sure you don't have more than 15 gruntz alive at one time from a team, or a total of 45 grunt "GruntStartingPoint" logics.
Also realize that gruntz from different teams will fight, even if they are from two "enemy grunt" teams, which can be useful in quest levels.

I think this is not the best place to post this, but can I put enemy gruntz on Battlez CL that aren't controlled by any of the teamz (for example, put an Object Guard or a Defender on a Battlez CL)?

No way, gruntz in battlez must be placed viva creation pointz, and nothing else. I can't exactly remember, but I think I was able to put a GruntStartingPoint in a battle level (however you must only enter a value for smartz) and get a successfully functioning grunt. However, I strongly discourage this as you wouldn't be able to make any new gruntz to put into a battle. However, if the GruntStartingPoint in a battle level does work, it'z sole purpose would be to change the origin creation point (see Building Fortz).

I discovered that it does work to put a GruntStartingPoint into a battle (a logic is a logic, questz or battlez [just a couple of differencez]). I also found out why it'z ridiculous as well. When you begin a battle, the computer randomly assignz playerz smartz valuez, thus the position changez. But as with WarpStonePadz, the smartz of the GruntStartingPoint remain the same. This meanz that your grunt (who would be smartz 0 in the game as a GruntStartingPoint) could end up in the enemiez fort even if his smart value is the same as the smartz of the fort. Similarly, you may have enemy gruntz in your fort as well. The simple way to put it is: Fort smartz change while GruntStartingPoint onez do not!

It happened with me when I was building the Fortz of SuperCasino( my Battlez CL). However I think the GruntCreationPoint changez with the Fort. If not, the player must be very lucky to have his gruntz on his Fort. For example: there are NW, NE, SW and SE fortz. Each king start randomly, but they start with THEIR Gruntz on the GCreationPoint that has the smartz of the fort they are. Bit complicated, but I finally understand!

All fortz, creation pointz, GuardPointz, and WayPointz of the same smartz will move around together on a map. P.S. don't forget to put in GuardPointz and WayPointz to give the AI a slightly better intelligence. I have noticed that in the training battle level of the standard battlez that the fort positionz do not change. Anyoone have a clue how to make it work?

Strange...the training level's fortz hasn't got any uncommon thing, I checked the training lvl WWD file. It may be cuz the most powerful fort is provided to the player. But I think ( or it was just a dream ) that someday the battle training lvl's fortz had changed. Zed was on player's fort, jebediah on zed's fort, me on Jebediah's fort and Serra remained in his home. I just think, I'm not sure if it was true! There may be a configuration that Lith made when building battle training level.
