Yippeee! I like this plan! I'm excited to be a part of it. Can you get me your address in private email?
Thanks!
And the offer stays open to the rest of world, I'd still like a working original.

GooRoo is the GoTo Grunt! Yippee! I take it you received the package in today's mail! Applying the labelz to the CD-ROMz may have damaged one or the other ... if so, I will send out replacement(z) without any label(z).

Hi
I have a chance to buy a copy of Gruntz via e-bay from Germany, I was just wondering if there is any way to change the voicez into English, Real Arcade is not working for me, I have managed to get the sound effectz working but not the voicez and I can't download the custom filez as there is no custom folder and I keep getting error on rez file message. I really want a fully working game so that I can enjoy every aspect.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

I think that Oldone got a German version... she can tell you about it... you've got to CREATE a Custom folder in the Gruntz folder and save the gamez in it

Thanks Gaby I have now downloaded the levelz I have received, look forward to playing them. You should be able to play them with the RealArcade version ... just do a "Make Folder" when in the Gruntz folder, and name the new folder "CusToM" (capitalization makes no dIfFeReNcE). Even with the RealArcade version, I thought that it was possible to make the same sort of Option selectionz, and have background music, sound effectz and voicez. If you were to purchase the German language version of the game (or any other non-English language version), simply applying the screen resolution patch may change everything into English. I know that's what happenz when the Version 1.01 patch is applied ... but that option is not available to RealArcade version Gruntzerz.

Now have the cd, the voicez are English, you all probably knew that, but I thought they would speak German, This game is so much better when you can hear what they are saying.
Thanks for your help on this matter.
Thanks Oldone for you help too.

I have a copy of the Gruntz CD, but i get the message that it isn't compatible with the 64-bit version of vista and exits setup. Is there some way to get it to work?

I have a 64 bit computer and Vista Home Premium Edition ... but do not know if it is a 64 bit version. I only know that Gruntz plays very nicely on my computer. How do I find out if I have a 32 bit or 64 bit version of the OS?

Right-click Computer and select Properties. It tells you under System Type. Gruntz usez a 16 bit installer, which is incompatible with 64 bit. I'll research this, and try to come up with a workaround.

Okay, so I have the 32 bit version of Vista Home Premium ... so the problem is 64 bit OS, and the solution would be to downgrade to the 32 bit version.

That's an expensive and risky solution, as you will have to format the hard drive. No, there is a way to extract files from installers - and that's what I intend to find out.

It was easier than I thought All the Gruntz files are just sitting there on the CD - the installer merely copiez them. Installing Gruntz on 64-bit versions of Windows 1. Create the folder C:\Games\Gruntz. 2. From the CD, copy the contents of the GAME folder to the newly created folder on your hard drive. 3. Also, copy the contents of the DATA folder to the Gruntz folder. 4. Create a shortcut to GRUNTZ.EXE by right-dragging to the desktop and clicking "Create Shortcut Here." Rename it if you want. Now launch Gruntz! It will automatically create the required entriez in the registry. Moviez work, and levelz are playable. (Tested in a virtual PC running Windows XP.) EDIT: It seems this method doesn't create a Gruntz.sav file, and therefore unable to save games.

So installer isn't compatible with 64 bit but Gruntz executable is? How is that so?

The Gruntz EXE file is 32 bit. (Once we reach 128-bit computing, Gruntz may then die. )

As a follow-up to this message : Installing Gruntz on 64-bit versions of Windows Something worth noting.... after installing with the files from the CD, you want to go ahead and install the 1.01 patch. And, if you think you're a little smarter than you really are (like me), and are transferring a previously patched executable file instead of from the CD.... you also need to get the updated Gruntz.zzz file..... or once you get to level 6-4, you'll be unhappy......
